What are the invites for ? Are there only a number of people online allowed to play? From what I looked at it seems there is a single player option too.

Looks like this is the ARMA I've been waiting for, could just never quite get past the chunkiness of the previous games. Although I did sink some time into OFP. I've really been itching for something realistic, especially since you can't even find the semi realistic stuff anymore like Ghost Recon.

The lite version allows you to play the single player showcases only, no multiplayer. It gives you a decent impression of how the game plays and looks but obviously you miss the true sim aspect as you don't have other humans helping you out.

This game is amazing and Tier1ops.eu has doubled in size since its release, its well worth buying into the alpha. Its remarkably stable but the content is a little less than Arma players are used to. Thankfully the modding community is porting all the mods and maps over so pretty soon the game will have everything Arma 2 had but everything a little/lot improved. There is a lot of buzz, its a fantastic game to play with some Arma 2 veterans.

Just look at some of our Arma 3 videos and you'll see how authenticate the experience can be to the combat videos you see on youtube and head cams.

Would love an Alpha invite. This game looks like a lot of fun 😀

Thanks Grooveriding!

Thanks man definitely looking forward to getting home and trying it out. I remember I really liked the first one how ever long ago that was.

I have 1 invite to give. PM me your steam ID and I'll get it out as soon as I get home from work.

EDIT- GONE.

I'm looking for a LITE alpha invite if anyone still has one. I really need to see how the movement is in this game because if it's still like Arma 2 I won't waste my money.

I get that it's a mil sim, but it should not simulate walking and moving as your character like another vehicle. Needs to be seamless.

Movement is a little smoother. I'm only up to the scuba section. It's pretty tough and the recoil is realistic.

I've never played any of the Arma games. I read some complaints here about the AI in Arma 2 but am more focused on the mp. Where is the focus of Arma 3?

The arma series so far to me has felt like a really ambitious permanent beta that they continue to work the kinks out in.

Arma 2 had some major issues that prevented me from enjoying it. The AI was horribly bad, and the movement in first person was just beyond awful. I know ARMA fans, it's a simulation, but character movement should not feel like you're driving a tank and you need another set of hands to do things in the game.

That's where the series really loses me. Your character should be an extension of your body, and you should not have to think so hard about getting it to do the simplest things.

I wish they would work on optimizing the engine better. Even with my rig in sig I cannot maintain 60fps. Looking at core utilization it is not using my CPU nearly as much as it could and I am CPU bottlenecked and get 30-40fps.

They really need to improve on the engine, because it is inefficient. Turning down everything, including distances, does nothing to improve frame rate.

Funny...find another game with such a big "sandbox".

Why do people inisists on blaming the engne, when their rig is insufficient?

I guess I must be ruined because I like a bit of plot in my games. The alpha was just boring, will there be some single player story in the full game?

The arma series have alway had a singlepalyer-campaign....but the is not where ARAM shines.

It a game designed for TACTICAL multiplayer gameplay.
I cannot emphasize TACTICAL enough.

If you are into CoD/BF/Crysis "Rambo" style gameplay this game is not for you.

People whining over CPU load (people dosn't get how the beast called multitrehding works) because their rig cannot offer WTFPWND 100% load, should start reading up...before posting crap and blaming others:

People expecting +50% CPU load on all cores really don't get multithreadning...but still insist on whining.

ARMA2 could use 31 threads.
That dosn't mean every thread had the same workload, the real World result were this:

Grooveriding's rig is insufficient ROFL!!!!! You are ridiculous.
It is for running ARMA3 aplpha at 60 FPS...are you callning him a liar?

The is hilarious.
Someone makes a game that runs a +150 FPS, people whine over stagnation of games.

Someone makes a game that unpossible to run at 60 FPS, people whine over it's "unoptimized", "sloopy code".

:whiste:

Do you even know what his Specs are? Look at his sig... You can't really get any better than that.

Unless you had a couple more $1000 gpu's.

And?
His E-peen is cleary hurt.

It's the same whine as back when Crysis came out.
People whined over it shattered their E-peen rigs.
Crutek dumbed down the I.Q. in Crysis Warhead as an result.
That made people whine over the lower I.Q.

There is NO other game out there doing what ARMA3 does...it's scale is massive.

Whining over a game because you don't understand the engine is bad, mkay.
