Maybe I just don't like exploring. Feels like a big waste of time for me. Maybe that's why I don't like open world games... Feels like there's no point in doing anything... No reward in cause and effect.. And I hate driving. It gets tedious.. I rather just go to the next level and play. I.E. in GTA 5, i just call the cab. Driving is too tedious.

It is just me or are the sound effects in this game really poor?

I have a Creative ZX sound card, and Sennheiser HD 598 headphones. I have the game set to use Pro headphones, and all the in game volume settings are maxed.

Yet criminals can still sneak up on batman (the ridiculously narrow FOV doesn't help much) on foot or even in a vehicle because the sound effect quality is abysmal.

can you change the FOV?

This game even worth getting for PC on older systems? I currently am running an i3-2100 and a GTX 460.

Crazy. Only 5 years ago I built my PC and I already can't play current games.

Dude, a new video card comes out every MONTH!

Why do you think consoles are so popular with parents?

$1300 for gaming rig at Christmas or a $400 PS4 or Xbox1...?

And I'm a PC GAMER!

Well your system was not top of the line then either. But really to stay on top of PC gaming, you should want a card every 3 or so years. Although my 3.5 year old HD7950 still runs every game out there respectably.

Well... 5 years ago you built a low/mid-range machine and now it's even lower. I built a PC 5 years ago too and it has an i5-2500k and GTX570, and even that was only mid-range at the time. You went with a dual-core processor when 4-cores were already typical, it happens. It's the classic conflict between spending more up front and hopefully remain relevant longer, or spend less more often to remain up to date. I can't say either one has a great advantage.

I built my i5-3570K back in June 2012 with a GTX 670 and 16GB of RAM. It's been doing perfectly fine for me, BF4, Crysis 3, Farcry 4 etc

I upgraded the 670 to a 970 last month. Now it plays everything wonderfully. I really wouldn't use this game as a benchmark guys, Rocksteady will fix this.

Also don't tell the console kiddies too much about PC gaming, let them think it's hard and expensive etc, trust me I have a PS4 and I had a XB360. Man those kids are terrible to play with (Even worse than MOBA clowns). Keep em all on consoles.

Yeah based on my income at the time, all I could do was a lower end rig, and it happened to run some of the good titles since then at a decent rate.

I've managed to only get into games that didn't require much power, but I kind of want to get this game after seeing my cousin play on Xbox. Buddy of mine also raves about GTA V, so I figure it's worth a try, too.

There's just as many annoying whiny PC gamers as there are annoying console gamers. There's also perfectly normal users on both ends, so lumping either group into a certain category is pretty silly.

Yep. I have a pretty good group of friends on psn and Xbox live but admittedly almost nobody on PC lol

Chances are you already have a PC, so it's more just the cost for the video card (maybe a power supply too). If I wasn't a gamer I'd still have a nice PC, just not the gamer video card.

Most people have a laptop from the local big box store. They can't play these games.

Five years in the PC gaming world is a LONG time.

Five years ago I had a GTX-295 and i7 950 with the Dell P2405W (1200P) monitor. 😀

Also, weren't you the guy w/ 3x 30" monitors on the wall mounts? Or was that someone else? ...

I know in the PC gaming world it's a long time... I guess it was more of a revelation of how fast the electronics/gaming world progresses.

No that was not me, sorry.

In the last five years I have gone through GTX 470>GTX 670> 670 SLI>GTX 970.

It's actually slowed down quite a bit too. As stated my CPU/Mobo/RAM are perfectly fine for what I play and I had to do 1 GPU upgrade.

Back in the days of 386-486-pentium-P2 you were pretty much obsolete in 1 year. The leap between Pentium 90/120/133 and the Pentium2/Celeron/CeleronA was massive and the leap from Voodoo 1 to Voodoo 2 then Riva to TnT/TnT2/Geforce was three fold and they came quickly.

I can't imagine staying with one card for 5 years. I've been through many cards in that period of time.

2x Nvidia GTX 285
3x ATI 5870
3x Nvidia GTX 480
3x Nvidia GTX 580
3x ATI 7970
2x Nvidia GTX 690
4x Nvidia GTX Titan
4x Nvidia GTX 980
4x Nvidia GTX Titan X

Sounds like you have more budget than brains...LOL!

It's not that crazy anymore. I basically have the same computer from 5 years ago. Only changed my 5780 to a R9 290.

Think about how much more you would have had to spend on a machine to build one that would still be high end today.

Now imagine what you can build today with that difference.

yeah I went from a 8800GTX, to a GTX480, to a GTX780. Probably gonna skip the 980 series, as it does everything fine so far.

Q6600 -> i7-930 -> i7-4770K
8GB -> 12GB -> 16GB
Veloraptor -> 160GB G2 Intel SSD ->1TB 840 EVO
X-Fi -> SBZ
Klipsch 5.1 Ultra -> Edifier S550 -> Edifier S760D hooked up to my PS4 😛
