Yet another avoidable tragedy that's a direct consequence of this country's utterly misguided war on drugs in general and marijuana in particular. Really, it sickens me.

It used to be that a no-knock was very rare.

usually against known armed and dangerous criminals with a history of violence, gangs ETC.

now a suspected pot growers apt with his family in it are getting no knocks?

its not the no-knock as much as it is how they are using it. it has a purpose, but this was NOT it.

its happened before, they have no knocked the wrong house before and shot people.

peoples dogs have gotten shot over it, because they got a no knock served on someone they though was aiding in pot distrobution(in relaity the UPS guy was shipping pot to their house and intercepting the packages).

not enough investigation and planning is what caused this. the missuse of the no knock is what brought it to our attention

Absolutely horrific story. Pima County needs federal attention indeed, and this whole no-knock issue needs to be be reined in. At the least, they could use flash-bangs first, but sensibly the cops need to visually verify that someone known to be violent and dangerous is actually in the house, and whom else is in the house. For instance, if there are also small children in the house, it makes more sense to apprehend a violent suspect away from his home, even if it takes some time for the chance to materialize.

That was another thing that stood out to me. I can't think of any reason why they'd need to keep the paramedics away for an hour after pumping 60 rounds into him --- even if he were actually guilty of something. Those in command of that operation need to be in jail.

I think this is ridiculous too and there's no justification for it. However, it's sort of a moot point because he had 60 rounds in him. He had zero chance of surviving, right?

Partisan? I don't like democrats or republicans! They're all a bunch of money grubbing two-faced lawyers taking billions from the wealthy, corporations, and special interest groups. For that matter, I'm not exactly impressed with the majority of Americans either who've elected these assholes, sold their government to the highest bidder, took out loans, and then ran the economy into the dirt. I was thinking about flash bang at dinner. If they encounter resistance flash bang them and breach the building at an alternate location. In fact, I found it odd that they only breached the building through the front door and did not also go through the back door or a side window.

I mean they were trying to arrest post growers right? Why half ass with by breaching just the front door?
