You can't make this any better. The law hasn't even gone into effect and yet it's very purpose is being fulfilled. Illegals are leaving, fearful of getting caught. And I don't cry a tear for businesses that cater specifically to "migrant workers" which is nothing more than a euphemism to illegal alien.

How's that boycott working out for ya illegals?

Migrant-dependent businesses from cafes and car dealers to pinata shops in the state capital Phoenix say they already are taking a big hit as fear ripples through the Hispanic community.

Gaytan, whose bright, clean diner offers Mexican staples such as beef soup and spicy seafood dishes, says turnover slumped 35 percent to 40 percent after Arizona's Republican Governor Jan Brewer signed the bill into law on April 23.

Polls taken immediately after it passed showed the law was supported by almost two-thirds of Arizona voters and a majority of voters nationwide. But opponents charge the state law is unconstitutional and a mandate for racial profiling. They are seeking to derail it court.

Some migrants targeted by the law already have begun heading back to their home country or moving to other states, selling off their belongings at numerous weekend yard sales in Latino communities across metro Phoenix.

Excellent. It seems like the law is addressing the source of the problem indirectly...businesses.

Liberals are too foolish to understand what they are doing. It will be funny when they have to deal with the consequences of their stupidity. California is already bankrupt, and the illegals streaming in will only make things worse. CA will become an example of what can happen when liberal fools are allowed to run amok. Everyone knows this.

It's going to be pretty awesome for AZ. Some people will take a hit from not being to cater to illegals, but AZ pays a whole lot to support them. They're consuming services but not paying taxes.

It's wonderful. Now, if there ARE problems, no one's going to be blaming on the illegal immigrants. It's removed one portion of the problem, and I have to applaud the lawmakers in Arizona for growing a set of balls and doing the right thing.

But they are putting money back into the economy by buying goods and services, and are paying at least something in the form of sales taxes.
I'm curious if the cost savings the state will have in not providing welfare and hospital services will offset the money lost by decreased sales tax income and money being turned over into the economy by the illegals.

I dont think that even begins to offset the state's burden of having them there.

The economy will benefit without the illegals. Anyone who says otherwise is a fool falling for foolish propaganda. Everyone knows this.

On sales taxes alone no, but if you look at the turnover into the economy I'm not sure.
Reading the article the business being effected are owned and operated by citizens or legal aliens. If they close, and the owners and workers leave the state as many in the article stated they would the state is now losing out on the taxes they would of collected from them in several forms.
It goes a bit beyond the illegals themselves when it comes to economic impact. How widespread that impact would be is beyond my guess.

Yet we had people telling us how this enforcement was going to be horribly difficult and cumbersome, etc...yada, yada, yada....Who'da thunk it, if you actually enforced the law all the ILLEGALS would start moving out.

Sadly the illegals ( with the help of left-wing apologists) are going to make CA into their illegal alien Mecca. :(

that's only a tiny portion. they spend only what they need to stay alive.
most of it is sent back home to support whatever family they have back in mexicana.

so not only are they not paying taxes, they're funneling money out of the country. money that could've been spent here to help our economy.

Really? How do you figure?

If you get stopped, you must be driving a car. So the cops have justification to ask for a drivers license. If you produce a AZ license (or one from the other 49 states), your automatically assumed to be in the country legally. If you produce a Mexican ID, then that is justification to ask if your in the country legally. If you fail to produce any ID, we your in additional trouble for driving w/o a license.

I am sure AZ is willing to take especially when they factor in the hit the social economic costs of having an out of control illegal situation with rampant abuse/fraud of social services, identity crimes, DUI and accident cases, drug and smuggling related crimes, gangs, along with catering to them by providing forms in multiple languages, providing education to their kids, health care issues, etc..

Edit: I almost forgot the depression of wages and the sucking up of low-medium paying jobs, from farming, service sector jobs to construction and everything in between.

Not if you look like an illegal. Liberals will stand up for your right not to show ID. If you're white, then well, too bad. That's the way the world works. Everyone knows this.
