Arizona GOP censures McCain for 'liberal' record

The Arizona Republican Party formally censured Sen. John McCain on Saturday, citing a voting record they say is insufficiently conservative.

McCain isn't up for re-election until 2016, when will turn 80. He announced in October that he was considering running for a sixth term.

According to the resolution, the 2008 Republican presidential nominee has campaigned as a conservative but has lent his support to issues "associated with liberal Democrats," such as immigration reform and funding the federal health care law.

Several Republican county committees recently censured McCain.
Timothy Schwartz, the Legislative District 30 Republican chairman who helped write the resolution, said the censure showed that McCain was losing support from his own party.

"We would gladly embrace Sen. McCain if he stood behind us and represented us," Schwartz said.

McCain was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in 1982 and won his Senate seat in 1986.

Remember, guys, the GOP isn't moving to the right, it's America moving to the left.

lol. 92% conservative is apparently not only not conservative enough, but it is so offensively liberal that it requires official censure.

But yeah, continue to deny that the GOP has radicalized.

The American Conservative Union rated John McCain's voting record as 92% conservative in 2012 and his lifetime rating is 83% (so he's gotten MORE conservative):

In other words, the tea party now requires conservative to be to the right of David Duke to be 'sufficiently conservative'.

It is remarkable how crazy the GOP has become thanks to the insanity that is the Tea Party.

Why is it that the Repubs feel the need to move ever further to the right when they lose presidential elections when moving closer to center is what will get them in the White House?

Alienating their moderates and the independents that decide close elections by reflexively demanding their candidates move further to the right to win elections is nonsensical to say the least.

There is that idea of false consensus. Hard core conservatives think that the majority of people truly agree with them in their hearts. That means if they lose an election it is because they strayed from their conservative ideals or they were somehow betrayed (by the media or whatever). The answer is never that perhaps their ideology wasn't that popular to begin with.

You take that back or incorruptible will be outraged!

Oh, he might pretend but I really doubt that there is any actual thought given one way or the other.

Based on the way he presents himself here he's a 'macro troll' who keeps posting the same things over and over and over looking for a reaction.

A different type of nehalem but with the same apparent need to be 'noticed' on the interwebs.

That's 8% brain functional so still very dangerous.

Hey moron, when did I ever support and vote for reagan. Show me the quote or STFU.

Gotta love the guy who insists the official Tea Party stance and the head of the Congressional Tea Party caucus aren't the "real" Tea Party.

Gotta love the liberal moron once again spouting his BS. There isn't a leader of the Tea Party, it is a grassroots organization. STFU fucktard.

You are mighty brave behind that keyboard in another country always telling people to STFU. You sound like a drunk in a bar. Also, since you went to straight to name calling you already lost anyway by your own words.

But for grins are you telling us you don't think Reagan was a good republican?

Have you not seen the bubble their followers live in? I mean just look at some of these posters here on P&N, being batshit crazy or borderline retarded seems to be a requirement.

Typical liberal can't decide between bat shit crazy or borderline retarded.....damn flip floppers. 😉

I was considering on writing an article comparing the tea party to taliban and al qaeda.
Comparing how both are basically terrorist operations at heart.

In this country we operate on the two party system.
Our motor under the hood of democracy.
And one major component of that motor is the separation of church and state.

The tea party just as with other radical religious based organizations, the taliban, al qaeda, seek to operate government by erratic, perverted, twisted fundamentalist views of religion inserted into every corner of governing.
Like a cancer, attaching itself onto the healthy cells and overtaking the entire body, making the body weak, sick, and dysfunctional.

Thank God the democrats have thus far been immune for the most part to this cancer, but I doubt that can last much longer.
As far as the republican side, the cancer has already taken a heavy toll.
One by one politicians like John McCain are falling victim.

The tea party, like the cancer, will only be happy after the host has been completely devastated by the cancer. Every idea of our constitution, our freedoms, derailed and squashed, to be replaced by some radical religious foundation form of government.

That might seem ok to a lot of people, if, this religious conviction actually followed or had anything realistically to do with true scripture of the bible.
It never does.
Just as does the taliban, al qaeda, the tea party picks and chooses which parts of scripture to follow. And with that, then precede to twist and rewrite to soot the need.

Watching the theater movie Lone Survivor, I couldn't stop thinking while watching the heroism and bravery, WHY were we there in the first place?
The movie was all well and good at depicting the story, but how were the circumstances that we were in that country in the first place?
I'll tell you.
The coup of the Untied States government.
The day the Bush's and Cheney's took power, and I refer to the first Bush, our government was overtaken by oil interest.
By men loyal only to their own private self serving oil interest in the middle East.
Men willing and capable to corrupt our government including our military, to take hostage, in serving only their interest and not of the people.
They, those men, essentially enriched the Taliban and Al Qaeda, with no regards as to the cost or potential outcome to our nations best interest.
They did not care about the cost to our security, our economic system, or the cost in blood of our soldiers.

And now, we have the tea party. The cancer.
Another perversion of American justice, that never would have been possible in the first place if not for the planting of that seed by those corrupting our very way of life and freedoms during the Bush years in the name of self interest and financial personal gain.

John McCain?
He is just a fleck in the rear view mirror of the injustice.
Not that I'm a McCain fan, but his political obituary has already been written.
Yet another victim of the cancer attacking America.
And no one should doubt for one second, that if this cancer should win out, take over, you can kiss our Untied States Constitution goodbye, as well.
To be replaced by some radical fundamentalist religionist concept exactly and identical to that in theory of third world taliban and or al qaeda forms of justice.
I call it Nazi Germany on steroids.

Attacks on personal freedoms of every form.
If they, the tea party, had the power to march right into the WhiteHouse today and string up our president and his family, just as with the taliban and al qaeda, they would insist and believe their actions justified and blessed.
That is the cancer we are up against.

Women forced into second classed citizens obedient to the husband.
Gays labeled sexual deviates and sent away in railway boxcars.
Freedom of religion dissolved.
Freedom of speech outlawed.
Schools forced to teach only radical fundamentalist religious beliefs.
Sound familiar? It will.

It's so cute when you try to defend your stupidity. It's like watching a retarded puppy try to play fetch and instead running in a circle.
