From the article:

"Weintraub (Castro's lawyer) acknowledged that the reaction of many people would likely be 'good riddance'..."

I'm one of the ''many people."

$5 says the guy from Suits (David Costabile) plays him in the Lifetime made for tv movie. Looking at the picture, it's like Clark Kent/Superman. Take Castro's glasses off, and you have the actor.

Saved the tax payers lots of money. Good job Ariel.

Just heard th attorney for Castro on the Today show.. sure sounds like they're gonna try to file a lawsuit eventually. Probably end up costing tax payers in some way.

From the article:

Weintraub acknowledged that the reaction of many people would likely be "good riddance," but said that he planned to get to the bottom of the circumstances surrounding Castro's death.

"This is a human being," he added. "We are not going to let this go."

No....no he wasn't.

The guard watching Castro was distracted by the poker game he was playing with John McCain.

Sentenced to 1000 years. Good stuff.

Offs himself after only a month. Excellent.

Saved the world an assload in housing costs and appeals. Even if lawyers do go after prison system, will likely cost less than appeals... and will hopefully be quickly resolved/thrown out.

Meh. Should have had to endure much longer. Taking his own life was his last hold on power that he should have been denied.

agreed; I think this is pretty terrible. Would have rather a long-ass time rotting in prison, or at least taking a few shivs from Bubba once he got the transfer.

When people like Castro and Dan White commit suicide I wonder if they had epiphanies about what they did and what they were.

I'm pretty indifferent. I don't care if he didn't "serve his sentence". That's a weak sauce argument. Prison should be for rehabilitation first, and to remove a threat from society second. Retribution is for the weak minded. He was too old for rehabilitation, and since he killed himself, the threat to society was removed. That's a suitable outcome. No tears, no joy, only recognition.

I assume it was the fear of prison shower rape awaiting him.
Even in isolation, I'm sure they knew he was there, and he heard their chants and taunts.
