Extremely large photo.

It doesn't look at all how I expected it. It's a very modern looking city, with freeways and bridges and eveything. It's also hardly in the dessert. It's right on the river and filled with trees. Also, it doesn't appear to be filled with dozens of presidential palaces like they keep describing. Easily 75% of the city looks to be residential. Note that the photo was taken about a year ago and doesn't show any smoking bomb craters or anything.

Not to be too critical, but how can you tell that there aren't any Presidential Palaces? I can't really tell with certainty what any of the buildings are.

Yes, but the photo is pre-invasion.
