I had a 45GB 75GXP that completely failed on me that I RMAed and received a brand new 60GB 60GXP as replacement. I was upset that my old one failed but happy that IBM would send me a newer bigger one as a replacement.

Now about 6 months later, my 60GXP is nearly gone. Fortunately, I made sure most of my important files weren't on the drive but it sucks that it's my OS drive and I have to reinstall the OS a new one.

No more IBM HDDs ever!

Welcome to the club. I lost two Deskstars. Worst drives ever. I found out yesterday that my cousin worked for IBM storage, but transferred out because they are in such horrible shape now.

I put the last RMA in my Tivo, I know that's going to come back to haunt me one day.

My dual WD1200JB are rockin'!

I had a real scare with my pair last week. I am still not sure exactly what the problem was but at one point XP would not boot at all. Somehow I magically fixed it but I went right out the next day and bought a cheap 120GB and copied all the junk I don't want to lose onto it. Of course I have not had a bit of problem since then.

IBM SUCKS. My two drives failed on me. Than I rma'd them and another one failed on me. They send you the drives back in such horrible packaging and want you to ship it back in the greatest stuff invented by man.

I am seriously leaning towards the 120GB WD. I heard alot of good things about them.

Western Digital is the only HDD I haven't used yet mainly because they used to be commodity low end storage compared to Quantum, Seagate and IBM.
