I just finished this mission today and I don't find it so difficult. I'll write this from memory.
This mission is all about using the sniper rifle in a right way
First stab the guard and get his sniper gun. Then move fast along the road over the curve until you are able to see the houses on the right side that are still in one piece. There are two snipers waiting by windows, take them out. There is a guard waiting on your left. Take him out. Then move forward and take caution because there will be another guard coming out. Take him out with your sniper rifle as soon as he starts blasting on you. Pick out both AK-47's and look across the road. There's a man with a machine gun by the middle window, take him out with the sniper. There's another man waiting behind a fence, shoot him with the AK-47. Proceed on, there's a house with a red cross on your left, here you can pick up the medical kit. Then enter the last building on the right side of the road and pick up the sniper ammo from the sharp shooter you shot before. Be real quick or else the APC will kill you.
Then move on and stick to the road. Mine fields are designated with colored tables. As soon as Anya briefs you about the helicopter, you'll be able to take out two men next to the jeep with your sniper rifle. Then run to the hills on your right and keep running until the heli flies away. Do not return to the jeep or else the tank will start blasting on you. As you approach the next checkpoint, use your binoculars (press space bar) to determine the position of all guards. Take them out with your rifle. Beware, there's a guy with a sniper in the house on your left. Shoot him and take his ammo after you clean the surroundings. There are two people in the ruins on the right side of the road to be taken care of with the AK-47. Then use the sniper to shoot the guard on the tower and the guard on the left by the ramp. Go to the checkpoint, shoot the guy in the house and take the medical kit. Then climb up the tower and use your binoculars. There are 4-5 people guarding the border crossing. Take them all out with your sniper rifle. As I remember, there were no guards alive when I came to the border crossing. Approach it from the left side and avoid the security cameras. You can also shoot the cameras with the sniper rifle, if you need. If you still raise alarm, destroy the Mi-24 heli with the bazooka you found in the checkpoint. Find a part of the fence with no barb wire where it's possible to climb over it. Then just go to the guard box, open the doors and approach the truck.
Once again, everything can be done by using the sniper rifle and picking up the ammo for it.
