To make a long story short, I accidentally uninstalled my CD/DVD drive... I looked on Dell for a driver to reinstall, nothing... I can't use the CD that came with the computer that has the drivers on it... Obviously, because it doesn't work... I unhooked the SATA cables from the drive and rehooked them and rebooted the computer, here is what it does now, opens, but does not close.. Anything I can do? Get a new drive, that's what I've planned on but would love to not have to :)

What does it look like in Device Manager? Does it have an exclamation point next to it?

I've never had to install drivers to get DVD drives to work. Does it show up in BIOS? if not you might try reconnecting the SATA & power cable. if not ask dell customer support or buy a new one.

This. The last time I had to install drivers for an optical drive was in the DOS days.
