The predominant language in the US is English. Our commerce is conducted in English, our Constitution is in English and so on. I have no problem with any ethnicity or any language, but people living in this country, as citizens of this country, should speak this country's language; English.

THE US HAS NO OFFICIAL LANGUAGE

this revokes your right to bitch about people that don't speak english.

Do you think that's their reason?

If it were change (English as a national language) do you think there would be a plethora of people in line for ESL classes?

Somehow I doubt it...

Probably not.
But at least you would have the right to bitch about it 😉

Do not limit this rant to spanish speakers.. this goes for everyone who moves to a predominantly english speaking nation. I'm of puerto rican descent and I totally agree that any immigrant should learn english and that english should be the official language of the US. I have a frustrating time with some of my fellow hispanics on the importance of learning english and how you will never advance in your field of work without good english comprehension.

I also expect those who move to Spanish speaking countries to learn Spanish..this argument goes both ways.

its really sad. these people come and expect the Americans to learn their language while they continue to only speak their language

they should learn english as soon as they get here
