ok...my system specs are as follows:
1.2 ghz athlon (no oc) with a volcano II hsf
256 megs pc-133 cas2-crucial
ECS K7S5A mobo
ATi Radeon 8500 oem (stock 250/250)
Enlight 7237 case w/stock ps 300W
fresh install of win 2k
before I reformatted...my system was running fine...no problems at all...then for some odd reason it just started crashing....it just freezes and like the sound that was comming out...just loops....forcing me to do a restart....so...I reformatted...because I was also messing around with drivers and stuff....ok...now fresh install of win 2k...I install the 3276's....it still crashes...I figured it's a heat problem...so I took off my case....now for awhile...it hasn't crashed at all this week....I've even ran a 6-7 hour loop of 3d mark 2001...I figured it was a heat problem because it hasn't crashed since....until about 10 minutes ago...I was playing some action half-life...and then all of a sudden...it did the same thing that it did last week...which was crash...immediately after the crash...I restarted and felt the hsf on my 1.2 ghz athlon...it was very cool to the touch....so then I touched the memory on my radeon 8500...it was also cool to the touch...so then I moved my way down to the radeon's gpu...it seemed a little warm....definately not burning...it seemed totally normal for temps...so then I checked the main memory...and it was also cool to the touch...so now I'm really confused on what the problem is...I still think it's a heat issue because when I took off my case...it hasn't crashed for a week...rather than last week it just crashed within a matter of hours and then after that first crash...it would crash in a matter of minutes...but I don't know what's overheating...since the radeon's gpu and memory seem pretty cool...and my volcano II hsf is also pretty cool...along with my crucial memory oh yeah...people say that my board is picky about psu's....but for some reason I don't think that's the case because I think I would experience different ways of crashing...any suggestions? thanks...
