For those who haven't been playing our home game, I'm a Product Specialist/L2 for Dell Home/Small Business Dimension tech support at an outsource. Basically, I'm tech support for the techs.
This wonderful example of why I'm leaving this lovely job calls into the L2 queue, and asks how to copy the Win95 setup files from the CD to the hard drive to do an install. The L2 she got gives her an example of how to use the DOS COPY command. She manages to not understand the example, and calls back in, getting me. I tell her "Type copy D:\win95\*.* C:\win95". She calls back, gets me again, and informs me I gave her the wrong command. I ask her to tell me exactly what she typed. "copy D:\win95*.* C:". I inform her that is not what I told her, and she procedes to tell me I'm lying to her and she keeps getting different answers every time she calls. I give her the correct command, AGAIN, and send her on her merry way, and go on break.
How is it these MORONS manage to get through training without a basic understanding of the rather simple DOS COPY command?
