Yes...Argh on him. Here's the story...I want to work at my parents store over the summer so I can get some money for my car, right? My mom said it was okay, in fact, before the summer started she said I HAD to get a job and if I didnt look anywhere that I would have to work there. So I figured I would work there. So my mom talks to my dad about it and my dad decides to be the good parent that he is and says no. Why does he say no, you ask...Well, here's why. He wont let me work there because of my hair and my goatee 😕 He says that no one would hire me with the way I look 😕. Why should it matter to my dad how I look...He is my dad and he wont let me work at the FAMILY business. Now does this make any sense?
 
What's the business? Things like that can hurt business, depending on what it is, and your dad still has to run it.

You are lucky... I mean... if you shaved and cut your hair... you still would be getting paid at least $5.15 more an hour than the family I work for pays their family members. Most family buisnesses don't pay their family members because it's for the good of the family.

I would work for free if they bought me the car that I want...The car costs $1500 so its not like its that much money.

EDIT: I would also sell my computer to help them out too...
 
I guess you have to decide what is more important; your hairstyle and some fuzz on your chin, or the car.

Respect your Dad's wishes, trim and shave. Your hair will always grow back. Go up there work hard,dont complain, just do your job, do it well and your Dad will gain lots of respect for you.

If you were your Dad would you want your customers coming in and snickering, asking whos the new hippy? 😉

I understand that...but its my hair and my goatee 🙁 Its not like their business does well anyway...He gives so must stuff away for free...The store sucks...lol. Hell, I'd be happy stuck in the back watching the cameras for people stealing stuff or carrying stuff out for people, cutting pipe...just anything....I could always go work at Hot Topic 😉

Anyhow, I just kept telling him I got it cut and he left me alone.

BTW my hair was about that length, maybe a bit shorter. But it looked better on me 😉

I dont take good pictures at all...Never have...Never will...
 
Oh yeah...and about cutting it short...that would probally look worse then what it does now...You see, people in my family tend to bald early. Its happening to me. The front of my hair is thinning pretty bad...If I keep it pulled back, it dosent really show (my little way of a comb over 😉). So if i cut it short, it still wont work...because I am losing hair 🙁

I hate to say this, but...

Grow up, cut your hair and shave. It's time to join the real world. It sucks, I know, but you can't join the professional world trying to look like a rock star unless you're talented enough to start your own business.

BTW, if you were my son I wouldn't hire you at my business either with a goatee and long or freaky hair. Not only do I have MY boss to worry about (the customer) but it wouldn't be fair to my other employees who have to follow the dress and appearance code.
 
If you think you are going bald, DO NOT try to hide the fact by growing long hair. Just cut it short and live with your genetics 🙂

Its a shame rogaine only really works from balding from the back 🙁
