Argh...is tv-out supposed to be this complicated!?

The TV works with a camcorder's input..but not with my Ti4200! I'm having some friends over about an hour to watch a movie, and I can't get TV-out running...lol...it says "Auto-changing to front A/V jacks" on the screen when I a cable in (the cable itself doesn't have to be attached to anything for it to say that, though) but that's all that happens. Nothing else...am I missing something obvious? I didn't get an adapter (turns it from the PS2-looking connector to the standard red/white/yellow plug) with the card, but I have one that fits..running an audio RCA cable..but I've used them before, and it worked. Any ideas, or am I stuck with a 17" monitor? My old Ti200 worked fine in tv-out...booted with a TV instead of a monitor. This doesn't work at all.

I suppose I could just go rent the VHS instead of watching the DVD I own..but I'd much rather use my computer's sound.

Buy a DVD player for $79.

If I had more than an hour, I might...if you have any ideas on a decent DVD player I can pick up real quick, I just might..lol

I've never used a Ti4200 before, but did you enable the TV in Display Properties > Settings > Advance > Display Tab?

I dunno, go to Sears and get whatever's cheap, you can always return it if you don't like it 🙂

The TV & LCD options are greyed out..bleh.

Make sure the TV is plugged into the card, then check to see if it's greyed out. The card checks the ohm rating to make sure there is a TV plugged in before it's available to be turned on.

Still greyed out...installing newer drivers (again).

Edit: Might just call my BB & see if I can get one of these : http://www.bestbuy.com/detail.asp?&b=0&e=11099596&m=932&cat=1979&scat=1983 Whaddya think..

Sounds like it might be your cable that's the problem since you said it's not the original one... are you sure the TV-out on the card is an S-video connector?

It's a PNY Ti4200..I'm quite sure it's S-Video. The card didn't come with the adapter, though...

Might end up running to BB & picking this up..people should be here in about 1/2 hour, though..hehe
