I have a CCFL kit in my PC and it comes with a round rocker switch that requires a 3/4" mounting hole. that is entirely unacceptable.

I would like to find a toggle switch that I can mount on a 3.5" drive bay.
This sounds easy enough, but since I'm not an electronic engineer it is proving to be quite difficult! :(

I am sure Digi-Key has plenty in stock that would meet my criteria, but I am lost looking @ SPST, DPDT and other such specs.

If somebody here "in the know" could help me out I would really appreciate it!

Thanks! :)

Your local radio shack or other electronic parts store... SPST is likely what you want. P=Pole=1 switched circuit (usually the input). T=Throw=contact positions (usually output), S=Single, D=Double. So SPST=one circuit on or off, SPDT=one circuit connects to two different outputs on/on and sometimes has a center-off position. You do NOT want momentary contact!

Or take a drive cover for your case and cut a slot in to it for the CCFLs native control. :)

Thanks Zepper!
Got another question though....

Radio Shack's selection of DC switches is pretty limited.
Do I have to stay with switches rated for DC, or would an AC toggle switch be safe?

AC toggle is fine - most of their DC switches are for automotive use anyway.
