Ok guys... I currently run a GEM 18" LCD off analog and frankly I dont notice any appreciable ghosting. But the colors are pretty bad on this thing (too red) and in general I want an upgrade (DVI is a must with the poor 2d on my PNY 6800).

So.... I want to get a new LCD monitor that can handle gaming. I actually like that my current monitor is 18" with 1280 resolution, I think 1600 would be tool small even at 19". I really dont like ghosting, and I hear its a bigger issue with DVI.

I would consider a CRT, but I frankly live in pretty cramped conditions. So..

Money is not a MAJOR issue.. that is, I want to buy something that will last for a long time and will be great as a gaming monitor and also a general purpose monitor. I would love 19" but I'd consider 17" if need be. OR, I am willing to live with my GEM POS for a while longer if you all think there is going to be a major breakthrough in the next year or so...

EDIT: Do you think it could be a smart move to get a 12ms TN panel on AGP for gaming and get a larger 25ms for text using a PCI card?

how about a Dell 2001FP
Its 20.1" and 1600 X 1200, 16ms response time.
And you can get it (with a deal or coupon) for about $700.

EDIT: It has DVI, too.

Are you sure about the 16ms?

Ive heard bad things about larger monitors and their refresh rates.
