I don't see how much better of a deal you can get then a $5 Ultra X-Finity 😉

get seasonic, quiet and reliable. no nonsense, rate very high on being quiet, fan ramps up intelligently. in a lineup on custom pc magazine they tested psu's at 50-100% load using a tester, and it passed with flying colors, while remaining quiet, not something many psu's pull off.

.bh.

People seem to be having good results with the rebates on the $5 and $10 X-Finitys (different finish).

I've got a P180B, Asus P5W-DH Deluxe and a Hiper Type-R 550W PSU. The 4-pin power connector is situated at the top rear of the case and the cable just barely reaches the connector.

sorry I've been away but I'm back to thinking about my case problem... I think I've got an idea that I'm sure I'll get slapped for but here goes. I'll either get the P180 + the FAR Ultra V Series 400W for a total of $100 + tax with the intention of upgrading when I can find a great deal on a good psu or I'll get the Thermaltake Matrix with a 420W psu (included) for $50 at Frys this weekend. I'll also keep an eye out for a psu upgrade if I go with the Thermaltake. So basically its a $50 difference in case only if I assume the two PSU's are equally crappy and intend to replace them at some point in the near future. Thoughts? Keep in mind that I'm building a moderate system of around $800-900.

You really should get Some good Seasonic or Fortron. I know what I´m talking - my PSU died 2 days ago. If you have to have cheap PSU look on fortrons - some decent ones could be found arond 50USD. But remember YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR.😉

All good cases don't come with a PSU and the ones that do are normally crap.

ahahahaha i couldnt agree with wiz on this more.

The only antec psu i would trust is the neo line, there smart power and truepower arent worth there value in terms of FSP, Sparkle, Enermax liberty.

No one cared to tell you that u should be careful in the PSU u pick. The P180 mounts the PSU in the bottom rear and ive heard a few PSU's main rail has problems reaching the board. On my brothers 180 i use the FSP 500watt blue one. I dont know the model number off the bat, it was recomended by galvanized, and howard even recomended it once.

Ask howard and galvanized for PSU recomendations. They usually pick out ones that u will need, and not overkill on your budget or power reqs.

To my knowledge the current best bang for the buck psu would be the silverstone 500 watter. Its priced a little under 100 dollars and should last you many many years to come unless u plan on quad sli.

Ultra X-Finity @ $5. You should also state what "500 watter" you are talking about.

Lots of brands I would put before the Enermax Liberty in the "value" section. The NeoHEs and the TP3s (trios) are the only recommended Antecs currently in production.

aahh, looks like I missed that deal at frys/outpost as the rebates ended on 8/31. Is that what you had in mind?

You can find it for $10 also, I forget where it is located but you should be able to find it on the Hot Deal forums.
