yes i got into an accident today i'm sure i will be getting a point. will i have to wait 3 years for the point to clear before i can apply for my commercial driver's license? i'm in california. yeah pretty bad accident suv into a miata type car. no injuries though. i want to wait to ask my employer because promotion is in 6 months may allow me to be a commercial driver. thanks guys.

Points will not stop you from getting your CDL (unless if you really suck at driving and it is revoked or some shit), but points can stop you from getting a job driving a truck.

If you are going to be issued points, you received a summons/ticket, correct? And as a result of that summons/ticket, you will be receiving points on your license, correct? A traffic lawyer may be able to get it thrown out. Unless things work differently over there in California compared to NY.

Traffic school?? I remember when I lived in Cali, you could keep the points off your license with traffic school, but don't know if that's still applicable, or even applicable for accident tickets??

The stuff you'll be driving with a CDL will have even worse brakes, so get used to it.
