I order some items on the 17th for delivery by Christmas. Items were CLEARLY marked as "in stock".

I emailed their support two days ago, asking what the status of my order was (you can not manually check the status on their site unless you were logged in when you placed the order... I was not) Today I get an email saying the items are backordered. Should be in stock in 30 days. Craaaaaaaaaaaap.

Fracking Danes.

Amazon to the rescue? If you order today and do 3.99 shipping they're guaranteeing before christmas delivery.

Not in stock there. (without paying the gouging prices)
These weren't the "big" gifts, just little side-notes. Guess they will be delivered after Christmas.

You should call and complain.

What good is it going to do me though? (yes I realize I'm complaining here with no possible benefit)

In all honesty, I have ordered from LEGO.com many times before. All super fast and super efficient. This is the 1st time they screwed me. Just frustrating to have it happen.

This will make you feel better. Print it out and put it under the tree. The kiddos will understand.

My mother did this a lot. like when I got my first decent pc she gave me a budget to spend rather than buying it herself.

What did you try to buy?

Well from LEGO.com I tried to get some train track pieces.
(the kids are getting a lot of sets from local/other sources.... it seems its a Harry Potter Christmas in my house)

The tracks were 1/2 the price at LEGO.com versus anywhere else at the time. I'm guessing (now) that they are hard commodity to come by, hence why so much in other places.

UPDATE:

The demand for the items listed below has exceeded our expectations and the items are no longer available. We regret to inform you that the order for these items has been cancelled from your order

Thanks ass-hats.
Side note: You spelled "canceled" wrong.

No they didn't....it's an accepted alternate spelling.

http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/cancelled

It's the typical spelling for European english speakers.

I think the demand of the Harry Potter train overwhelmed the supply of tracks, but usually Lego is pretty good about their ship dates.

And now one of the bigger sets we got is missing a bag of pieces. Try explaining to a 7yr old, why the elves fucked up.

Phew. I know someone that knows someone and had them pick me up this this and this at cost. I thought that you had ordered one of these sets and I screwed you over. I'm glad that's not the case otherwise our relationship would've been... awkward.
