wait is it bad or active? I bought a Droid 1 from a guy on CL that was still activated and stayed that way until the end of his billing cycle. After that I was able to activate it on my account.

Did Verizon say you can't activate it because it's still tied to his line? I'd think that would be his problem (ETF) and you'd be able to activate a line on it on your own account.

If he refuses to cancel his line, or give you a refund, then lend it to some Japanese people to call their relatives in Japan with it since he'll be paying the bills.

No, I think this was a sticking point when Apple originally approached Verizon with the first iPhone. Verizon has since come to their senses.

It *is* different on the back. The extra writing is gone on the VZW phone and it's just an Apple logo.

The ATT version has lots of model / cert info.

Why are you blaming the seller when youre the idiot?

The OP is to blame for getting the wrong version iphone, but the seller is still an idiot for keep the phone activated on his account. Now the OP can actually use that phone through the seller's number if he wanted to.

That stupid. You should be able to check the capacity without turning the phone on and going into settings.

Something is confusing me. AT&T iPhones have a slot for the GSM card while Verizon iPhones don't, I'm assuming. Why didn't the OP check for this?

Because I was being a dumbass, and I am posting this from the iPhone. I have received texts from his friends, I should run it up

Just you wait, we're going to see a lot of this in the Apple forums .. Apple users are noobs 😀. Now that there are TWO physically different phones .. they're going to freak out more.

Hilarous.

I've had an iphone since day 1 😀 .. my only apple device.
