im building my first computer. cpu in. put the heatsink on. i cant get it to snap on both sides. i lift it up to put the other side on first. is the thermal grease still ok?
 
😕 so if i lifted the heatsink off and put it back on with about 5 minutes, should i go buy some thermal grease and redo it?
 
Does the thermal pad look cracked? Are chunks of it missing? If not, then I'd guess its probably alright to reuse it. If you turned the computer on, though, you will definately want to get some thermal grease and redo it.
