is this it? Man that's a big drop from cable when I used to download linux at .5mb/sec. I'm starting to think this may not be worth saving the $18 a month

SBC offers pro service for 36.99, 1.5-3.0Mbps dl speed.

edit: wait a second, wtf are you complaining for? would you rather be on dialup you ungrateful bastard? :|😛

Your speeds are about 40% faster than mine.

I typically get about 80-85KB/s DL. The really cool thing is that my upload is almost that fast too. 😀

I have QWest DSL, which is supposed to be 1500/128. It's more like 900/700.

Whatever. For regular browsing, there's really no diff b/t this and a 3mbps cable connection.

Now, on those big 25MB+ downloads, yeah, I miss my 3mbps cable connection. Every day use though, I'm happy w/DSL. At least it's ho-hum speeds are consistent.

I did the same thing myself once before....I learned my lesson 😉 What sucked I was locked into a 12 month contract with DSL.

I would pay for that if QWest offered it and guaranteed the speeds.

I must say this though; I've not had a single problem w/my DSL from day one right up until today. Always up, no issues. 🙂

Me too I love it... can't beat $45 for 600KB/sec down and 60KB/sec up.

Residential customers get almost nothing guarenteed. Look into their business offerings. Get a couple of T1's. 😉
