Someone must have stolen waggy's salt shakers from him in the past. It's a sore subject for him.

You said they were worth $40 apiece or something. That's a chunk of change. So I guess if a solid gold barf bag showed up on your front doorstep, you would be saying "Well, it's a BARF BAG."

yeah because i'm not pattin ghim on the back for getting caught for theift?

regardless if it came with NO name they still opened it up and took the stuff. Now called on it he does not know what to do.

it would be diffrent if he had already given the stuff back. BUT to sit on ATOT and ask what he should do is nuts. GIVE THE CRAP BACK.

who cares if its only $40. that may be all she could afford.

What do I tell the apt manager... that she's wrong nothing was delivered?

fyi, I've been rejecting packages/letters CONSTANTLY from this old tenant. She needs to forward her mail or somethign

Hey, Sampson, if he isn't trying to steal them, then why would he ask this question?

I'm sorry what is the question here? Should you steal the salt shakers? No. Should you repackage them? Probably not. I'd just give her the shakers and a note of "apology".

I am not wanting to STEAL anything. I'm trying to figure out a good way to give them back without pissing off this former tenant. I don't want some crazy old woman at my doorstep.

Easy. Give them to the management office and make it their problem. Explain there was no name on the package and you get packages all the time so you GF didn't think twice about signing and opening.

Ask the manager to kindly have the old tenant change her mailing address so this doesn't happen in the future.

Well, I don't like people who barely read the thread before flaming someone, and people who jump to conclusions.

You are doing both with near perfect execution.

well this post could have a reason why i think he is a thief!

seems like he is just looking for people to pat him on the back and give him excuses to steal it.

If i get an unmarked package at my house, i most definitely will open it just to see whats in it.
But i have to agree if you find something thats obviously not yours, you shouldn't think about what to do with it...especially since someone's obviously looking for it

I have never seen a package from uPS with no name on it. Why would you have to sign for it, if it didn't have a name on it? I'm sure there was at least a packing slip inside...

This story doesn't make any sense...and why would keep something you didn't order in the first place.

You suck, and the only one confused here is you.

UPS accepted for delivery a package without a recipient's name? Surely there was a return address and sender's name. The current tenants at the apartment have "been rejecting packages/letters CONSTANTLY from this old tenant. She needs to forward her mail or somethign" but it doesn't occur to the girlfriend or anyone else in the apt. that this package with no name on it may not belong to them? Who opens packages when they know for a fact that it wasn't theirs and weren't expecting it? Especially since there was supposedly no name on it. What kind of person dodges a mistake or their responsibility or worse by asking: "What do I tell the apt manager... that she's wrong - nothing was delivered?"

It's pathetic you need to ask what you should do.

yeah basically there no way there ws soem sort of packign slip with a name on it.

I really doubt you can order anythign without a name....so when your gf and you found out that your roomate didnt order them either why didnt you return them ?

you better be ready to reimburse her for the shakers if she wont accept them since they have been used.

You guys are too harsh.

It's just a mistake. I'd just give the shakers to the manager or the old tenant, who bears some responsibility for not taking care of her business. Why should armatron have to take care of her shiit?

because if someone had posted that their grandma bought some salt shakers that went to the wrong address and they signed for them and are using them everyone would be up in arms talkign about how they would physically harm or sue the offenders....

its all about perspective isnt it
