Remember, if you have to shoot, make sure they fall down inside the house.

Good luck.

Aim for the knees. They won't be going ANYWHERE or hurting anyone, and you won't be on trial for murder, either.

And for those of you calling BS or bigotry or whatnot, they're all white, and if a housewarming party involves stalking 5 year old girls, breaking out windows and trying to kick in doors, they are MOST DEFINITELY NOT welcome in the neighborhood and this is a much more serious problem than the one I'm describing.

careful though, an artery runs right behind the knees...one slip and they die :)...not that it's bad I guess.

Do you have proof a "social program" as you call it funded the purchase of this house?

Actually, I'm not going to ask professional questions to someone who is rather clueless about the industry. :)

There are times when I envy your right to bear arms.
We have some similiar problems, but the only legal solution is to keep dogs and fortify the home security system :(

Two 160-170+ lbs puppies and a massive, high fence can solve a lot of problems, though.

it's a shame there was no type of law enforcement agency in existance... someone should get around to creating one of those someday.

That's what happens when you buy property in a neighborhood. You know you can get good land all over the country for a few hundred bucks an acre? If you don't want them crazy crackers moving in next door, don't let there be a next door. I don't get worried till someone starts stalking within twenty acres of my home.

It takes 45 minutes for a police response out here. We know, because this is how long it took them to respond to each of the 5 B&E attempts last night. I'm willing to bet that if I shot one of them, it'd be down to FIVE.

 That's my plan, as soon as I establish a career.

It's my job to know how these social programs work in conjuction with real estate and I find it extremely hard to believe they (state and federal housing agencies) funded the purchase of this house and the legal conversion to a legal multi-family dwelling.
There are so many requirements that have to be met for a house to be dealt with in such a fashion. Since it's such a highly priced area the likelihood of it being in a zone where it is eligible to meet the criteria for federal or state housing funding and rehabilitation is near impossible.

This sounds like your story of the black drug running cars with their lights off doing 130mph across the border.

Presumably they bought it long, long, long before the prices spiked up this high, it's been vacant for nearly 10 years, but the lawn's always been mowed and stuff. About 3 months ago, some crews came in, gutted the place and made some pretty extensive modifications.

I think welfare is good so long as you can't stay on it forever. There should be a definite max of like a year or something. Even that is high though.

After that, if you really need the help, then there should be some kind of welfare2 you can go on where you have to prove that you're not just lazy. Like if you're in injured soldier whose wife died and you have to take care of 3 kids now. Not lazy ass crack addict.

You obviously haven't seen crackheads - or chemheads - in action.

This thread will degenerate into a liberal vs. right-wing mudslinger. Nothing good will come of this, and no one will be convinced on either side. Doesn't thig belong elsewhere?

Working on it. For the moment, though, we have some garbage that they threw all over their lawn this morning instead of putting it into trashbags with assorted program logos on them [someone should've called the cops and got them pegged with the $5000 littering fine], and the testimony of some woman that was clearly stoned out of her mind when she tried to go into the wrong house.

Yeah, probably, but that wasn't the original intent. I should xpost this into P&N just for laughs.

I wouldn't do it. Being right-wing is a bannable offense.
