No, I work when I'm on the schedule. Luckily I've kinda locked in my schedule but it still changes every once in a while.

Flexible, but it's hard for me to usually not be here when people are now that we are down to 3 guys and not much overlap.

Today I came in at 10:30/11ish. I am usually here 8:30/9ish to 5. My lunch is whenever and I may take 30 mins one day and a bit more than an hour another.

It's a nice setup.

That said this saturday I need to upgrade a file server at 7am. About 20-30mins of work.

Sort of.

I have to be available to take calls starting at 730am, but once a call comes in, I have substantial latitude to deal with it as I deem necessary. If I need 30 mins here or there I can just take it, and nobody would really notice.

I don't get to quit work whenever I want -- I'm expected to work until the job's done, unless extraneous circumstances bring the work to a halt. On occasion there are no calls and I get to stay home and "work" all day. Basically, they pay me to be ready to work when there are no actual service requests.

I also have to do periodic on-call duty.
