We don't have coffee here. Kinda sucks, I just make it at home every morning. Oh and it's mostly fat people but that's because 80% of the employees here are women and most of them are over 50.

Its good until you dump sugar and cream into it.

This... Some people have no limits. In one cup of coffee I routinely see people dumping 4-8 sugar packets and an equally disgusting amount of heavy cream. At that point, it is not longer like coffee, but it turns into a desert with each cup you drink.

Interesting poll results. In the offices that do not have free coffee, half of the offices are fat people and half of them are skinny people. In the offices that do have free coffee, the skinny offices outnumber the fat offices at a rate of 2 to 1.

I think we've learned something here. The key to losing weight is drugs and lots of them. Drink up! 😀

Mixed crowd, I'd say mostly "thin" but this is Southern California so to be expected(especially where I work) and we have free coffee.

correlation does not = causation
In this case it probably does. People who abuse other stimulant drugs like cocaine and meth tend to be skinny as well.

California still has an obesity rate of about 24%. National median in terms of states was 27% obesity based on one chart I'm looking at.

who provides the free coffee in the typical cubicle-type environments where most ATOTers work? I'm just curious, as I'm in a rather a-typical place in the ATOT world.

we have a large office of post-docs and grad students, et al, and the coffee isn't exactly free--there is an uber espresso machine, that those who use are to keep stocked by rotating beans and milk/cream...whatever is needed. It's cheap, yes, but couldn't really call it free.

anyway, quite a lot of skinny folk, "mostly free" coffee.
Our department pays for it, it's free for the employees.

Half of my co-workers are fat, I'd say. Depends where you draw the line. I've just recently started drinking coffee, but just one cup with 2 packs of sugar. 40 calories or so, I'll live.

Free coffee and our floor is mainly skinny/average. Other floors vary, some are girthier than others.
