I'm sure Vista will eventually make it's way into the MS Action Pack quarterly update. However I have a free upgrade coupon to Vista Premium so I'll send off for the software as long as it doesn't nix my Media Center 2005 product key. XP Pro does everything I need and I don't feel like upgrading to headaches anytime soon. According to the poll results I am not alone. :)

I'll get my express upgrade copy from hp when I get my dv6000t, but I'm not going to be in a huge hurry to get it installed. I still like XP plenty.

Screw it...I'll bite the bullet and upgrade as soon as OEM is released and I get my new computer :)

Im upgrading as soon as my University will sell it to me for 12 bucks. I got lots of wasted CPU cycles anyways, and I really like the look of Aero.

And I sir, am just such an idiot.

I am going to install it on my laptop probably next weekend and on my desktop sometime around February when a side development contract I am working on is over. I am installing the Ultimate version from MSDN FYI...

I thought I would wait for the first SP - but with the way things go these days you never know what nasty bit could be added by then.

I've been running Vista Ultimate ever since RC1 was new. I agree that not everybody needs to upgrade to Vista, particularly if your machine doesn't meet the specs. I needed a new OS for my Asus biuild, so I bought a copy of MCE2005, and will get the free upgrade. I like Vista, and my new pc was built to get the max out of it, with 2gbs of 3200, and a 256mb Video card, and a FX55 AMD cpu.RC1 and RC2 both have run very well on the pcs I have them installed on and it's a learning tool for me. I sell new custom built pc's and customers are already asking about Vista. XP PRO still has at least a 5 year EOL, so it's not really necessary to upgrade right away. Beta testers have it free until June 07 anyways.

I'll stick with 2K a bit longer. I saw no reason to upgrade to XP and see even less for Vista. Especially since I'll have to pay even more to upgrade my programs.

Nope... I'm not going to pay $$$ to run a brand new OS that's still got driver and software compatibility issues.

No. Vista brings nothing to my party at the present time except possible aggravation. Waiting until SP1 comes out might not be a bad idea. It has some EULA problems for DIYers.

How come it's not on my MSDN software list? I just checked and they removed xp64 from the list but I see no Vista version on there.

I was really counting on MSDN AA through my school to get Vista, as it allowed me a genuine copy of XP Pro 32bit. I hope they get it on there for my school/account! I would like to try it on a 2nd hard drive, otherwise if I can't get it or it sucks I'll just put Ubuntu on a 2nd drive.

No upgrades here, I will evaluate Vista to determine if I should allow any new systems to be installed with it. Right now not having much exposure outside of the Release 2, I cant gurantee it works with anything we have here.

Unless other options become more attractive sooner, in 2 or 3 years I will consider purchasing Vista.
Until then, I will consider completely ridding myself of MS Windows every minute of every day.
