Are any of you traveling for Thanksgiving? If so, where are you going?

I'm going back home to NY.

Just up to MA to see the folks. I'll probably leave Tuesday after work and come back on Saturday. I hate traveling during Thanksgiving week...I think it's actually worse than Christmas week.

I am traveling from school to home then home to my grandparents' house. I have a ton of work but my grandmother's pumpkin pie is out of this world.

Thanksgiving traveling is kind of annoying, but having to fly home kind of sucks, regardless of the time of year. These 4 years of undergrad in Chicago have taught me to look at grad school within bus/train distance of home. It's easier and cheaper to travel home in such a radius (as well as allowing for shorter notice, just going home for a weekend)

I'm going up to Auburn for the Iron Bowl.. Auburn vs Alabama. The game is Friday at 2:30 Central on CBS. We will be there Wednesday and have Thanksgiving dinner at our usual tailgating spot underneath the pecan tree.

In the sense that my University kicks me out of the dorm, yeah. I have more friends here than at home and for some very good reasons I'm not all that excited about seeing my parents (although they'll probably be completely irrationally happy to see me). Still, less than a week, then I'm back. :)

That's BS. When I lived in the dorms, they only kicked us out for winter break and spring break (and there was one dorm that allowed for you to stay during both, so you could make accommodations in campus housing if you couldn't go home).

I was going to, but I just fixed a few things with my car and I don't feel comfortable making a long drive in it yet.

Nope. My university only gives Thursday-Saturday off, and flying halfway across the country takes about a day of travel each way. So I'll hang out with my brothers and a friend of mine.

Well I could apply for break housing, but it's pay-by-the-day. More expensive than a hotel. :p They do offer break housing at no extra cost if you qualify (valid reason for not being able to go home, distance, lack of transportation and such)

So class starts up the following Monday or does Thanksgiving start your winter break? If it was the latter, okay, whatever, kicked out for winter break. But if it is the former, getting kicked out for 2-5 days, that's lame. Considering that some people might have to travel a good distance to get home and you already pay an exorbitant amount to live in campus housing (generally speaking).
