Are you that hard up for money Taco bell? (minor rant inside)

TBell is only marginally acceptable as food. I feel bad for those whose only choice in "mexican" fast food is TBell. 🙁 I've been there maybe a dozen times in my life and have never once not regretted the choice.

I'm in the the LA area and will still hit up Taco Bell every few months even with easily accessible Mexican food everywhere because of their 99c stuff.

I'm in Texas though, so I'm spoiled as hell when it comes to choices. I might feel a lot different if I lived in an area where the only place to get cheap tacos and such was Tbell.

Yeah, why don't you just hit up Urban Taco at Mockingbird Station? Then you can go for some microbrew beers at Trinity Hall and see some indie movie at the Angelika? You fucking hipster.

You are dealing with people that work at a fast food restaurant for whatever reason. Perhaps they just can't qualify to work anyplace else or life is kicking them in the balls right now and they have no other choice. Either way I'm guessing their job satisfaction is right up there with your experience at the "restaurant." There were no winners that day, but at least you got to walk away from it.

I used to like it but in my area, its a soggy and overpriced mess. The same deal with my local KFC. I hope yum brands/pepsico burns because their shit sucks bad now.

Obviously the main idea in this OP is that if you have any kind of problem with the ordering of your food, it's a damn good idea to NOT pick up the finished product.

"Does that look like spit to you?"

Its cheap and they accept credit card unlike most hole in the wall joints. I rarely carry cash unless I know Im hitting up the local taqueria or pho place.

Sucks for all of you guys who have shitty Taco Bells. Im probably lucky that the main headquarters of TB is in Irvine and they keep tabs on the restaurants around here.

My bill is usually $9+ anyway. The only semi-healthy things to eat there are grilled steak tacos fresca style. They are ~$2.79ea. I usually get 3.

You should have hooped and hollared, pointed at the menu, yelling expletives and made a big scene.
That's how a lot of Taco Bell's clientele would have acted.

Well, I still havent found a decent fast burger (despite people claims about 5 Guys) but Chipotle makes awesome tacos, Churches has great chicken, and Blimpies/Quiznos are good sammiches.
Dairy Queen has awesome stuff these days (for most of the 90's they were shit).

Try Culver's if you have one near.

OP, be glad they didn't call the cops on you (which is what I'd expect of managers that stupid).

City I went to college in used to have one and then got a second Taco Bell. The original one was generally shit. I think I actually contacted Taco Bell about it. Got some letter that basically said "fuck you, thanks for giving us money though sucker" with like two shitty coupons (seriously was like $0.50 off a specific item or something).

The new one had the single worst drive thru I think I've ever seen, where basically you could get stuck like 10 cars back because they put a big concrete curb preventing you from dropping out of the line. What made it worse is that the order station was only like halfway through so even if you had not ordered yet you could still get stuck in line.

Good thing I'm not a big Taco Bell fan to begin with.

This is tragic, totally tragic news on par with the Norway massacre. Sorry for your tragic loss OP.

Back in the late 90s I used to frequent a local Lebanese mom/pop restaurant that served real food (as opposed to the crap they serve at TB). It was a rough time for me as I was working full time, taking night classes towards an MBA ... and my Mom was dying. Ont the way to class one afternoon I stopped at the restaurant and ordered off the menu (a fantastic falafel sandwich). When my name was called I was told (what I thought) the wrong, inflated price. When I told them the "correct" price I was informed that the menu prices had changed but they hadn't had the 2 minutes it would take to replace the menu in the window. I paid begrungingly and wished them a friendly fairwell, knowing that they had lost my business forever.

It has been 12 years since I bought that sandwich and the restaurant is still there. Unfortunately for them they lost thousands of dollars worth of business because they would not honor their advertised price on a stupid sandwich.

Vote with your wallet ... don't spend your money there anymore. You know TB's food is crap, you know it sucks, you've been insulted, dishonored, etc. ... make them pay!!!

Thank you for saving so many starving kids. At least, I assume that's what you did with those "thousands of dollars" you didn't spend at that restaurant.

Huh?

You shouldn't drink and post ... especially this early in the morning. What are you mumbling about ... starving kids???

The point I was trying to make was to vote with your wallet.

Well I'm sure you had the desired effect, seeing as how they're still there 12 years later. Do the owners look destitute and unhappy? Do you get food from some other Lebanese place and then stop by there for a drink of their sweet, rueful tears?

they are getting a lot more expensive... used to get the gorditas/chalupas for $1.49 now they're $2.49. Grilled Stuft Burrito used to not be XXL and was closer to $3.50. I used to be able to make a 4-taco meal for like $6 and now it's at least $10. Worst part is they never have coupons like every other fast food (and not - Boston Market) place. What's up with that?!

OP, if you want to get the cheaper price at Taco Bell you need to offer to trade in a new born baby. Everyone knows this.

Maybe it was just a lot busier that morning than expected. The pizza shop I (occasionall) work at runs out of pizza every once in a while. Customers are often confused by this, so we have to explain to them that we make fresh dough every day; it takes at least 2 hours after we start making the dough before it's ready to be made into a pizza (with a lot of extra effort to rush it out in 2 hours; 3 hours is more realistic.) And, that requires an extra employee to come in; one of the few who know how to make the dough, as if we're that busy that we run out, no one has the spare time to make the dough. But, generally, by the time we realize that we're going to run out of dough, it's too late - if we don't figure it out by 6:00 - it's too late to bother.

i made the dough for a pizza hut i worked at when i was younger. id go in at 7am and get dough made and rising for the opening, then again at 3pm id make the evening batch. if they ran out, we could whip up a thin crust dough that wouldnt rise in about an hour to get by. i got paid a higher wage for being the "dough master", and i got more hours than anyone else. my regular job there was actually as a waiter tho, i told them i did not want to work in the kitchen. i had the experience they wanted so i got what i asked for. i also worked tables for 3.90 an hour when min wage was 3.35 and wait staff got 2.12/ hr. there were lots of pissy wait staff when they found that out.
