Are you still using IE?

well... you are stupid..

Last I used IE was IE6, FF was still in its infancy and was bulky and buggy... I feel smart now 😎

If you use Internet Explorer, your IQ might be below average--at least, according to one study.

AptiQuant, a "psychometric consulting" firm that provides hiring exams for businesses, gave online IQ tests to more than 100,000 people. Visitors arrived either through organic searches or through advertisements on other sites, and Aptiquant made a note of which browser each test taker was using.

On average, Internet Explorer users fared the worst, with IE6 users at the bottom of the pile and IE8 users performing slightly better. Firefox, Chrome and Safari fell in the middle with little difference between them. IE with Chrome Frame and Camino landed on top, along with Opera, whose users scored the highest (on average).

"The study showed a substantial relationship between an individual's cognitive ability and their choice of web browser," AptiQuant concluded. "From the test results, it is a clear indication that individuals on the lower side of the IQ scale tend to resist a change/upgrade of their browsers."

If its a R, I seek forgiveness from the R gods... I did a lot of search I swear

I stopped using IE because of the gawd-damned pop-up ads on anandtech...If IE would have offered a decent ad-blocker like AB Plus, I might have stayed with it...

I don't give two shits about WHOSE browser I use...only that it works right for me.

I use IE at work. At home I have IE, Opera, Firefox and Chrome installed. I used to be primarily an Opera user, but now I pretty much just use Chrome; my girlfriend likes Firefox.

Clearly my concept of brand loyalty is lacking.

Opera or Firefox for me. The later versions of IE are competent, but I don't like the feature set. Besides, they don't make a Linux version :^D

based on this: Visitors arrived either through organic searches or through advertisements on other sites

It sounds like their all a bunch of dumbasses.

Not yet, but since every "upgrade" seems to require that Microsuck move EVERTHING, I think I will migrate to Chrome soon...

Chrome, where there is nothing to move!

I use IE6.0 at work, because our computers are locked down and we can't install anything, I can't even get FF portable to work from a thumbdrive, it simply does not see the internet.

At home I access the interwebs directly though psychic connection and parse HTML directly in my frontal cortex.

You can feed the adblock list into IE's privacy tracking prevention filter. You get the same effect as adblock.

They even post the list (EasyList) on their website: http://ie.microsoft.com/testdrive/Browser/TrackingProtectionLists/

The IE team has mentioned that they would like to put in ad blocking, but can't for legal reasons.

i've done it before when IE8 first came out. but its not really the same especially when the other browsers are just as good if not better

Haven't used IE regularly in years. I was a FF pretty consistently up until the release of FF4, when I began using Chrome more and more. With FF5 being a shitpile, I've pretty much switched entirely to Chrome.

I have Chrome, FF, and IE installed, always the current versions. For work purposes (some websites only work on IE that I have to use), I mainly use IE(9) w/compatibility mode for some of the sites. Fwiw IE9 is pretty nice, and I like messing with the HTML5 sites when I get a chance.

TBH though, I don't much care, they all get the job done. The most important thing is to try not to use an outdated version of *any* browser if you can help it at all, or if you do have to use an outdated browser, sandbox it.
