it's the typical rule. it doesn't apply in every case. this rule is also exclusive for americans... i don't think it applies to other countries.
 
Mom's 5'8, Dad's 5'10, I'm around 6'2.
On my mom's side, my grandfather was 6'1 .... but on my dad's side, my grandfather is about 5'8...
 
Slightly taller than my dad and probably 2" or so taller than my mom.
 
dads 6'6, im 6'2, moms 5'10. My dad is pretty tall compared to the rest of his family, I am taller then all in my dads family. My older brother is 5'10, so I laugh at him because he is shorter then me 🙂
 
someone told me once that my real dad was 6'4''. Mom is about 5'8. I'm right at 6'1'' and pretty much look just like the pics of him except I'm a few inches shorter

Not sure what happened, I didn't start smoking until my growth spurt was over! =)


I have 1 brother who sort of looks like me (you can tell we are brothers) we are exact same height but my frame is much larger, He last weighed in at 135 and I weighed in at 190 when we did Wii Fit

He looks better then me too =(
 
Oddly enough, I'm stuck in the middle of my parents - my Dad is 6'4" and my Mom is 5'2". What's worse is my Dad remarried and my step mom is 6' even. Even being 5'10", I'm the shortest in my family.
 
Whats with all the six plus footers on this board? Are the shorties afraid to represent? 😛

It seems as if half the people who replied in this thread is over 6 feet tall.

As far as the thread is concerned, I'm taller than my mom and the same as my dad.
 
I've got em both beat.

Dad is 5'11.
Mom is 5'9.
I am 6'6.

Not really sure how that happened.

I am much taller than any of my extended family as well.

taller. mom is 5'5" or 5'6", she is the short one. dad is 6'1", i am 6'4", and my sister is about 5'10".

my mom's father was also 6'4" when he was younger, though at 85 years old he's not that tall anymore...
