I had a post in the highly technical forum about death awhile back, not me directly, but i posted something about death being like a stack of pancakes. My brain is crapping out and I can't recall what I said, but if anyone cares to fill me in on what I said, I know some people found it ammusing.

i am more scared of the uncertainty of what 'happens'.

not knowing what will become of 'me' is what really scares the sh!t out of me.

I'm no so scared of "death," but what i am scared of is how i might die (being set aflame comes to mind) and where i'll end up after i die.

I am afraid of the process of death and what happens after my body dies....

I think it is the "Fight or flight" reflex in me that has me so messed up. With fear your body "fights or flights". My body and mind have no idea how to do either. When I first thought about it, I almost had anxiety attacks. I am over that stage but I also don't allow myself to dwell too much on it either. Kind of like now. I am talking about it but I am only concentrating on what I am wanting to say and not the act itself.

Alot of people are going to call me on this but I am also a Christian. I know I am going in spirit to be in heaven. My body just doesn't know how to accept this physical "defeat".

Death is like a stack of pancakes. When you start to eat them, their really good, warm, tasty. But by the time your done, your frikin sick of em. If you place this analogy into your body, you can see, that the body, like your mind on pancakes, is good to go from the begining, but by the end, end being a pre determined length where parts wear out, your body's just plain worn out.

I'll never eat breakfast again. I am killing people with every bite!
:disgust:

no, i'm not afraid of death.. when i die, i die.. no big deal.. every does it.. c'mon... try it... it's what the cool kids are doing

ha. . here it is. .

When i think about death, i try not to think about a constant growing of cells, plasma, nerons(spelling), an other factors playing vital roles with the groth of our body. Forgive my spelling, its still early at work for me.

Anyways,

Death is one of those mysteries. Your body is like a car. You can buy a new car, treat it like a baby, but you will always need to replace parts in the end. Have you ever seen a model T that has all original parts, in pristine contition? I havn't. This is my point; Until human evolution develops cures for so many diseases, and or, developes the means to build parts for us, arms, legs, lungs, brains? heh, then we will always break down eventually.

I mean, when you buy a car off a lot, it depreciates its value by a few grand just like that, sooo. . .like a baby being born, its value goes down since its parts are already wearing out. Know what i mean?

So many avenue's to take with this one. I happen to like cars, so i put it in these analogies.

did i mention its early and i can't spell. . .

I do not fear death, for many reasons both spiritual and due to satisfaction with life as I have lived it.

It is a deep subject, and one of my favorite comments on the fear of death comes from Erik Erikson

"Healthy children will not fear life if their elders have integrity enough not to fear death" (Childhood & Psychology, pg.269, 1963)

Another shared view froma more spiriitual perspective which I share....

"The fear of death is death itself. Anybody who has torn death from deep in his heart does not have death or taste it" (Martin Luther)

No but I'm scared of getting old. I think I'm already old enough. If only time could stop or at least slow down! 🙁

Each age has it's own charm...

But it won't if you keep thinking like a ton of bricks...

The only thing that scares me about death is the fact that I won't be alive; the thought of no more sunny mornings to wake up to lets me appreciate the days I am alive. 🙂
