Poll: Do you belive any god, or do you not belive in any god?

This is not debate of any kind, i want to gather a sampling of the percentage of anan users who belive in a god.

Yes - I belive in a religion(s), and a god(s)
No - I do not belive in religion(s) or any god(s), and dont belive that something of a higher power could exist
Agnostic - I do not belive in any given religion(s) or god(s), but i am spiritual and belive in the possibility of a higher power. Spiritual but non religious.

Well...consider this a poll as of Aug 2011!

My freind claims 80% of americans are religous. I cant even fathom that, so i wanted to see first hand. Link me to old threads if you can find them

ATOT is not a representative sample of Americans.

Well its as good as im going to get, anything other than a national poll woulnt be a good sampling of americas diverse population. I can at least gather an idea of what anan members belive

i love my flying spaghetti monster

practicing pastafarian until I die bitches.

(i voted yes)

Agnosticism doesn't belong in your poll. Someone can be agnostic and either religious or non-religious at the same time.

I think you're going to find that polling people here will be disproportionately unreligious compared to the rest of society. I'm not saying 80% is correct but it will likely be higher than the percentage from this poll.

Most people in the US are agnostic, but would vote yes. They don't think about the concept at all. They never go to church. They never pray. Yet they'll say they're religious. And the religions will gladly accept them to pad their numbers.

I thought agnostic ment you dont belive in a god but belive that there might be one, or some higher power?

My Theory:

I don't believe in "god". But if he does exist, I would hate to believe that he would punish me just because of that.

Wherever that fits into your pole.

I believe in God.

I was raised in a Catholic household and went to Catholic/Jesuit schools and generally live my life in accordance with Christian values (turn the other cheek, love your neighbor, forgive those who trespass against you, etc).

I don't attend church services outside of social events (weddings, funerals, baptisms) and don't particularly align myself with any specific organized religious group.

I am not religious, and do not believe in any kind of higher power. I acknowledge that the possibility exists that there could be such (either singular or multiple), but until there is any evidence whatsoever that such exists I'm not going to bother "believing" in it.
