Could be worse, you could live in Israel for example heh. I'm not a big fan of forced service, but then again I'm not a big fan of war in general so...

I would not be accepted even if they did try to draft me.

And I seriously doubt deaf people would be accepted. You have to be in mostly perfect physical shape to pass the physical.

Yup, did it a few weeks after turning 18.

Personally, I think its bullshit calling it "Selective." I would also never serve for Bush, as I don't believe in how he handles things as the Commander in Chief.

Also, I would only serve in the air force, and also I don't think they would take me. I partially tore my achilles tendon 2 years ago.

as an American Citizen, should a draft EVER arise (very unlikely) if you are >=18 you basically HAVE to register at ANY time in history.

but meh, if it happens, there will be good reason for it too, and i will gladly serve my country as all men and women should in order to protect their freedoms.

IIRC most of the DMV's report the information to the selective service so if you have a state ID or drivers license or purchased a vehicle you are registered.

Not by choice. It's not like FAFSA was going to give me any aid for college anyway.

Plus, given all of my disorders, I would 4-F immediately.

Yup, but thankfully due to my prior medical history, if they wanted me to join I could give them a big fat "Fvck Off!" and the finger and they couldn't do anything about it.

Bootcamp can fix someone being fat, but it can't fix heart conditions and things like that.

Though, if we were in a posistion where a draft was required, the standards would be quite a bit lower.

That is a good point. We can make a Piecamp, to make the human shield more efficient. Idealy, the shield 'team' members will be as large as possible while retaining the ability to move under their own power.
