It's kind of strange for me. I have no disliking for any race; in fact, I have friends from pretty much every race. I find that no race is inherently inferior to another, however, cultures tend to define stereotypes and create hatred. That being said, I do sometimes distrust people of certain races that I don't know (namely African Americans.) Even though my best friend is black, I take things in a pragmatic sense and I'm sometimes particularly cautious around people. I don't really think that's racist, to tell you the truth.

When I was little I was jumped by about a dozen African Americans during recess at school, I was strangled, kicked, punched, kneed, etc.

I don't hate them or think Caucasian are superior, but to say it doesn't make me cautious about interacting with most African Americans, especially first time meeting them, would be a lie.

I've also had African American friends since, but if you're a stranger, I'm not going to go out of my way to interact with you, sorry.

there are two types in all races. One I like, and one I don't like.

There's a reason there's more poor black people than white; you might want to take a history class.

I am curious what you think the reason is.

MotionMan

I am curious what you think the reason is.

It really does not matter what I think the reason is - does anyone really know for sure?

However, gamepad put it out there like there is one obvious, well-known and settled-upon reason that can be learned from a history class.

So, gamepad, what is the reason we will find by taking a history class?

MotionMan

Stop being coy. You know what he's referring to. If you disagree, just say it.

I want to know what gamepad was referring to without any hints from the peanut gallery.

Once we are sure of his position, then we will be able to intelligently discuss the subject. Before that, we are both just speculating.

MotionMan

Right, because it's so difficult to figure out which moment in history put blacks at a disadvantage.

So, would it be fair to say that you believe the following?:

"The reason there are more poor black people than white is because of slavery."

MotionMan

Yes. If Blacks weren't introduced to our country through slavery, there would only be African immigrants. African immigrants are known to be very hard working.

Edit: This is also discounting racism.

Interesting. Are non-immigrants known to be not very hard working?

MotionMan

Two-weeks and no response.

I guess gamepad has left the building (or, at least, this thread).
