1. A Fine Balance by Rohinton Mistry
2. Fiction (yea, its one of oprah's)
3. Seems pretty good. So far seems akin to God of Small Things in a number of ways, but I could be way off- its early.

Hey I'm reading the same book right now! 🙂

I'm almost at the end, its a very nice book and quite diffenrent from God of Small THings. His writing style is much simpler. Having spent summers in Bombay, I can say that everything he describes does happen, ruthlessness, corruption and hate included.

I see lots of fantasy readers here... if you like Fantasy, and haven't read Song of Ice and Fire by George R.R. Martin, i suggest you do. Definitely the best series of books i've ever read... and i wasn't a big fantasy reader before this.

Hammers Slammers - David Drake
Sci-Fi
Second time through Love this book

THROUGH THE BREACH - David Drake
Sci-Fi
first time reading Love it so far

Star Riggers Way - Jeffrey A Carver
Sci-Fi
Great book so far

Just read :
Confessions of a Dangerous Mind by Chuck Barris
Fiction/nonfiction? Who knows...
Good

The Bell Jar by Sylvia Plath
Fiction
Good

Reading:
The Corrections by Jonathan Franzen
Fiction
Very good

Dreamcatcher by Stephen King
sci-fi
The book is great, I saw the movie while about 1/3 of the way through the book. The movie doesn't compare.

Actually I am listening to the book on my PocketPC - Hope that still counts!

I don't agree.

I think George RR Martin books get better with each one. The first in the series was mindboggling... but then the second, once i picked it up, i couldn't put it down. A day later, it was over, and i was on the 3rd book. I hated the third book... not because it was awful, but because it ended! And the fourth book isn't out yet. It's been months since i read it, and i still think about Jon Snow, Arya (she's my favorite!), Sansa, Tyrion, hell, everybody.

If so please answer the following questions:
1.) Fast Food Nation, Eric Schlosser
2.) nonfiction
3.) So far it's great... really makes you re-think how american business works and if MacDonalds/WalMart-ization is a good or bad thing for the overall health of the country.

Just finished:
1) Blue Mars/Kim Stanley Robinson
2) Sci-fi
3) Pretty good

About 25% through:
1) The Years of Rice and Salt/Kim Stanley Robinson
2) Alternate World history of the last 1400 years (he explores what the world would have gone through if the Black Death had wiped out 99% of white Europeans...Christianity pretty much wiped out, no European colonization of the "New World", etc.)
3) Pretty interesting so far.

Met Stan Robinson about a year ago when I still lived in Davis CA. He lives there. Nice guy.

What don't you agree with??? The fact that I thought it was just as good as the previous??? I'm confused 🙂😛

Arya is my favorite too! My 3 favorite characters are Arya, Tyrion, and Jon... I really love the brain wars going on between Tyrion, Littlefinger, and Varys.
