lets just say it hurts my 9800 pro quite badly in terms of what i can play the game at.

but if i was at school id be playing it but im at home so yea i cant.

MIKE

I had it at 1280x1024 high detail on everything, 4xAA 16xAF and it was decent, but I noticed some slowdown. I'm gonna turn it down to 1024x768 later on though. Got 104 fps on the stress test.

Why does everyone run at 1280 x 1024? 1280 x 960 is the one with the 4:3 ratio, just like all the other common resolutions! :p

I like 1280x1024 over 1280x960. I'd use 1600x1200 on the desktop, but stuff gets too small (only a 17" monitor).

its a completely different game now: guns have nothing in common, flashbangs work differently and HE is much stronger (this is nice). you run really slow so there is even less dodging manuvers to be done. great for campers i suppose
yeah it looks pretty nice now, but UT is where real fun is at :)

I got bored with CS little bit before 1.6 came out, I had played since beta 6. This got me re-addicted to CS. I think CS really needed an update.

So would i be able to download CS:Source, or do i have to pre-purchase hl2 first? Also, what maps are included in CS:sources?

You have to purchase HL2. So far there is Italy, Dust, Dust2, Cbble, Chataeu, Havana, Aztec, Office, and Piranesi. Theyre going to add the rest of the standard CS maps eventually I believe.

As for what maps it's all the ones that were in the original CS, give or take a few :p

Going to wait since I prefer the physical game and charging for full price for dl is kinda ehhh and plus you can probly find better deals when it's out ( I mean that is what hot deals forum is for) :D

Is that the name of the new CS coming out or does that just mean it's a Beta version right now.

The 'Source' tag on the games means that it's running on the HL2 engine. I was told of some other details of it, but I forgot. Important part is that it's on a new engine, and that it looks purty.

yup, all the old half life games will be upgraded to source. yes, half life 1 source!

*drool* That looks so awesome. I just can't see paying that much and not getting a cd. And you know when they release HL2 Steam is going to be so flooded it's going to be impossible to download.

anybody else tried to play this game on a crap video card? i only have an ati 8500, and i noticed that when i scope, the crosshair is slanted and at times out of place. is that due to my graphic card? and yes i will upgrade my graphic card, been meaning to do so the last couple of months.
