Are you intimidated by dudes who are larger than you?

My sister made mention in passing how she always sees other guys sizing each other up and asked if I do it too. She asked if I get nervous around taller people which was an odd question but was somewhat surprising.

I find that when I run into bigger people (I don't see that many b/c I'm 6'4 and lift weights) I likely do the same thing. I think "he is bigger than me... could he kick my ass?". I don't get nervous, but their presence becomes really obvious in my head--naturally, larger people (height, broad shoulders and muscle) stand out.

Do you find guys who are a good half foot taller than you and more muscular to be "intimidating" to an extent?
(Not in the piss-your-pants kind of way, but do you feel somewhat intimidated by their presence?)

I dont think presence has anything to do with size per sa, but more bearing (is that correct spelling)

Never had that problem, but I'm a Hulk. I actually enjoy intimidating smaller people. The fear in their eyes is exhilarating. :D

Use to... but that was a long time ago... I'm 5'6" but I wouldn't have trouble standing up against someone with 10" or 50lbs on me.

I'm a good bit shorter than average, but I don't really get nervous around taller people. Probably because most people are taller than me anyway. I do have trouble with eye contact while talking to somebody, but I don't think that's related to height. I actually think it's kinda rude to stare at somebody while talking to them, like you're trying to stare them down. But that's just me.

I am 6' 4" and about 250 lbs.

Normally I am the largest person by far almost anywhere I go.

Once in a while I see someone bigger than me. I don't think much about it other than the occasional "Damn that is one tall ugly motherf'r".

Though at work one day we had a new guy start work, he was about 6'7" tall. When I met him I joked "Wow you must be 8' tall!" He did not laugh I think he was subconscious about sticking out in a crowd like a lighthouse at the shore.

The average for men in the Netherlands is now at or over 6'. I'm 6'4" or so and I don't stand out much.

When going abroad though I suddenly feel like a giant.

I'm going to go against the grain here and say yes. Only it's not so much because I'm fearful of them, I know how to hold my own, but its like they have an edge on life because of thier height. I think for some reason I automatically view them as more successful than me, or having more potential due to thier height. I'm am however very intimidated by tall women, they make me extremely nervous. My wife thinks it's hilarious, but really tall women kinda freak me out. That's bad for me this year becuase my son has had a few motivation problems in school so I've had to meet with his 2nd grade teacher several times, and she's like 12 foot tall. She's very soft spoken, nice and attractive, but she makes me feel like a 2nd grader myself.

I always walk around thinking "I could take that guy"

I'm 5'7"/5'8" 155. Low Fat, High Muscle :). I'm not scared of most people. However, I begin make the cut off line (ie where "I couldn't take that guy) somewhere around linebacker size lol. It all depends really. Also I'm sure it would depend on the cause- an adrenaline rush is more likely to happen if you get infuriated or self-defensive.

Having said that, I wrestled for 2 years in MS, and 4 in High School on top of other sports, so it wasn't uncommon for me to practice against people bigger than I.

No, not really. I'm 5'11" and feel pretty average about it. I've never given much thought to height, but I suppose I would be self conscious about it if I were 5'6". I can sympathize because I would guess the emotions are very similar to balding (even though balding doesn't really make someone more or less physically threatening). I noticed I was starting to lose my hair when I was 18, and within 10 years, I was follic-ly fvcked. I now shave my head, but if you look close enough, you'll figure out why (not really by choice). I can honestly say that I do get treated differently because of it. I started shaving it a few years ago when I "gave up the fight", but I wasn't officially BALD yet. Once I shaved my head, people treated me very differently. I was shocked, actually. People were instantly less interested in getting to know me and were far less cordial. I had to really work at starting conversations with people, especially women, whereas before I never had to work at it.

This is going to sound weird but i am intimidated by people much larger than me. I am 6"7' and over 300lb's and when i go out and i see a person who just towers over me i just think to myself "what's the easiest way to just take out their legs"
