After reading this thread, pretty solid 7. There is room for improvement, and I'm slowly getting to where I'd like to be.

I work a soul sucking corporate job as a programmer. It's lucrative, but not really want I see myself doing forever. I have many passions and hobbies outside of work that I would rather pursue. I am trying to just save up a nest egg so I can do those for a while.

If I could manage to get more sleep, I would probably feel more like 8 or even a 9.

:)

Haha, after reading this I thought I had accidently posted this and had forgot I did, until I saw this was under another username.

I think for every 30 minutes more of sleep I could get each day it would add .5 points to the score.

Sleep is so good for your well being. This past Friday, I slept almost all day (was a little sick) and all night. Saturday morning I felt like a million bucks and I got a TON of shit done that day. It was awesome.

I just wish every day felt like that.

Because peace of mind is only for those who can afford it? Priority check on aisle 3!

Because healthcare is so messed up, a single visit would be trumped with so many charges, even one visit will break the bank.

The last thing I need is to pay $30k in trumped-up charges and lose everything. It would be far cheaper, and I'm serious, to just kill myself and leave the money to my family to bury me.

My biggest fear on this Earth is to have to see a doctor, even for the littlest thing. They don't care about anything but your wallet.

I've fucked whores in every NATO port between Rota and Haifa. I watched the first Tomahawk fly to Kosovo. I beat an irishman so hard his eyes rolled back and he started breathing funny. I've drunk a 5th of cheap booze in one night. I trudged through an Icelandic winter storm to fix a VLF transmitter. I moved across the country twice, alone, to chase jobs and opportunities. I had two fuck-buddies in Oregon that wanted no commitment from me of any kind. I took a stripper to the Navy Ball and we are still pen pals.
I watched my father wither away from Lou Gherigs and personally smacked around a nursing staff when they werent taking good care of him.

You need to stop assuming you have any fucking clue what goes on with the members of this forum.

I'm guessing your place of work does not offer healthcare benefits?

That is incorrect. An american doctor will ALWAYS see you. If you cant pay then they work out some sort of plan, which also includes a hefty discount. The rest of us cover your costs.

I will say however that I tend to see better doctors faster if I have good insurance.

i'd say a 9.5.

i'd say a 10 if i had more $$$ to go travel more right now. but the thing is, it's not like im struggling or anything at all, and it's infact quite the opposite. it's just that my wife and i bought a house and we're using all of our funds to get stuff for it.

currently in the midst of setting up my home theater and bought my projector last week which is going to project onto at least a 120" screen. also bought my new tv recently which is a 60" st50 in the living room and it looks awesome how i have everything set up.

so for the time being that is making me happy. i just wish i had an extra $3k or so lying around that i wanted to could use on a vacation instead of using on stuff for the house. but if i did have an extra $3k, i'd probably use it on stuff around my house to get my HT done quicker.

Perhaps not spending $10k on sound system and just living with what you currently have ($6k system) would go a LONG way towards your wanted travels.

;)

lighten up dude. i know for a fact some people on here fit the stereotype. my statement wasn't absolute.

also except for the thing about your dad, you life seems pretty good, so I'm not sure if that was a brag post or not. you didn't mention you had any serious health problems, so if that is true, you are doing pretty good (that applies to anyone). i wish more than anything i was in in good health.

current one is like $2.5k, and new one is going to be like $8k, but that is only the sound system :p

but i have a trip planned to costa rica in february so i will be okay until then, and hopefully have my HT done by then.

i would just like to be able to go to the atlantis in bahamas again this december like i did the past december, just for like 5 days or so. that place is so awesome.
