Hello.
I have a Soltek mobo sl-75drv4 and think it is a great board. So far very stable. The complain I have is that it has only 2usb ports and you have to buy additional usb ports? Not good at all,and the overcklocking function didnt work good either but I want it stable and it is.
I have windows xp and a amd xp+1600 on it.I also like the design of the board, looks cool.
I used to go for asus but they have disappointed me enough so I wont buy them anymore..

I've been running a Soltek SLDRV2 with no problems. Red Storm Overclocking was a breeze, system's stable and fast.

Only complaint I have is I can't fit an Alpha 8045 in here. Other than that (and maybe 4 IDE ports rather than 2), it's an excellent board and worth every penny.

You have an Athlon XP

DO NOT BUY THIS BOARD

I bought this board in january of this year and have not had a stable computer for more than a week at a time. I've pretty much replaced evertything else to check: hard drives, power supply, case + fans (to cool it down), sound cards, etc.

Nothing has worked.

I just noticed on soltek's site that they mention there may be an incompatibility with the sl75drv2 and athlon xp's. No sh#!. They have not responded to any of my emails (three at this point).

I've pretty much resigned to the fact that I wasted $100 and now I'll have to buy a new board.

BTW - the sl-75drv4 aparently doesn't have the same compatability issues as the 2

sorry to hear about your problems FallHawk

my SL75DRV4 has been running excellent with like no issues at all.. The only thing I don't like is the fact it only has 2 USB ports and no extra header - I was forced to buy a USB hub...

the IDE ports being horizontal on the board is a tiny bit of an annoyance too from an aesthetics standpoint, but other than that, the ATX placement is nice, and the CPU socket is pretty open and easy to get at.. the layout overall is average, but it's a great running mobo.. i am very happy with the board once running, and inside my case.. the layout issues are small, and are of little importance to me... but that's just me.

Overall I love the board... cool PCB color, good price, fast, and stable... it's an awesome mobo!!!

I have the SL75DRV2 with a XP 1700+, two sticks of Crucial 256 and WinXP-Pro.

Everything has been fine. Booted first time. Has been rock solid. My mobo came with the K4 BIOS.

since I posted last I put an XP1800+ in my DRV4 and it runs like a freaking dream. I had a couple 3h1min WU's for SETI on it, and it runs rock solid and fast as can be... I love this mobo...

i'm running the sl-75drv2 with an xp1900+ and it's stable and fast. i'm very happy with this board.
hey falhawk, i've run both a xp1700+ and a 1900+ on this board. did you load the latest bios? i checked the website and they said to call your local distributor. good luck

Yeah, I just installed a SL-75dr5 and a 1900XP and it seems to be running pretty sweet. I did have some problems having it recognize the chip as a 1900, but I just said screw it and did it via the dip switches. I was wondering what you guys are getting for temps and what you have your memory running at?

My temps are around 51-52C after 2hrs of RTCW online. My mem is at 146MHz, all latency settings low, and at "faster" not "fastest".

Anyone try the K4 bios yet? or know what changes were made? I hope they fixed the fan speed thing for fans slower than 4k RPM.

<< Anyone try the K4 bios yet? >>

That's what came with my mobo.. and a few other people have stated the same. I am not sure what the changes are, but I thought I saw official AthlonXP support on their website with the K4 BIOS.. hmm
