Are you happy with your doctor?

I'm beginning to think mine is a putz.

My mother's is 72 and he never had her bone density checked (until I demanded it recently). Turns out she has some osteoporosis so he put her on 1, 600 mg of Ca. In the meantime, she has a foot fracture related to, you guessed it, osteoporosis.

My father has liver disease and he never advised him on his diet except to avoid alcohol.

I injured my neck 20 years ago and even though an x-ray showed damage, he just prescribed anti-inflammatories

I guess it never occurs to this guy to be proactive and do something before you are completely screwed.

About the only thing this guy is good for is prescribing antibiotics and ordering tests when you request them. What a waste of 8+ years of education.

I have a physical on Thursday and I feel like going in there and kicking him in the nads.

I don't really have a doctor, just whoever the people at the base hospital are if I ever have to go 😛

My doctor has a policy of giving his patients exactly what they want, when they know what they want.

I've never abused that but I've hankered for morphene on occaision.

Doctor: I'd like to run some more tests.
Translation: I really want that moonroof option on my new Mercedes.

🙂

Let me guess... You have a HMO doctor.
You get what you pay for. In your family's case. Nothing. Goose Egg. Nada.
Don't blame your own mistakes on the health profession.

WTF does that mean. Are you saying you can't go to any doctor?

Doctor's Office: Hello, Dr. Blabla's office.

Me: I'm looking for a new doctor. Is Dr. Blabla accepting new patients

Doctor's office: I'm sorry, he isn't.

About the only options (possibly) are doctors just out of school with unpronouncable names.

This guys been our family doctor for over 25 years. He took over the practice from a doctor my mom and dad had seen for over 30 years.

I'm not exactly sure what you are talking about.

Let me guess, you must be a stupid whiteboy not willing to go to school yourself.
Get use to not being able to pronounce the names.
You are such an ignorant individual...

Well, I guess it comes down to freedom of choice.

I'm not looking for an inexperienced doctor who I'm going to have trouble communicating with because English isn't their first language.

Please STFU.

You shouldn't take offense to comments that aren't directed to you. Chill pill.

Anyway, my doctor is wierd. It is hard to talk to him, it seems he is scared to socialize or something. I like to be able to talk to my doctor like any other human being.

I am with my new doctor. He helped confirm that my old doctor was a quack, and also diagnosed some sort of congenital heart defect I never knew I had...

I think everyone should take offense to any racist comment whether it is directed to them or not.
Just remember what you say. It will bite you in the ass one day.

I think that you should get off your high horse. I live in the suburbs and I pay to send my kids to an inner city school that has about 40% minority students. I guess that makes me a funny kind of racist.

I wonder how many that are so quick to label others would do the same.

My grandfather was an Italian imigrant who received his medical degree from Columbia University and completed his residency at Johns Hopkins. Guess what just about all of his patients were - Italian. There's a certain comfort level for many people in having a primary care physician that you easily relate to.
