You can cut down the package an awful lot, I agree. I only installed the core drivers, playcentre and remote centre. (purely because I havnt figured out how to use the remote with winamp yet.) It still feels very bloated to me.

And you cant deny the problem with downloading drivers of the web either. It took me a few days to track down the CD the last time I re-formatted. I couldn't find a standalone driver anywhere.

Don't get me wrong, the sound quality is fantastic, the in-game effects are much better than most cards I've heard, and I'd still recommend it over anything else. It just has a few too many niggles to be the perfect sound card.

I agree you don`t have the option to download a full driver set from their site,however if you can`t find the CD that came with your Audigy or be bothered to do a backup of the updated drivers from their site to a CD-RW then it sounds like it`s your problem .

screeeech screeeech screeeech... that's the sound that occassionally comes from my Audigy Gamer. Sometimes weeks go by with no problems then suddenly.

I really wish I'd had waited to get the Hercules GTXP.

Gee, I feel like the luckiest guy alive...

Windows XP works great for me.

My Audigy works great for me.

My VIA KT266A mobo works great for me.

All 4 DIMM slots in my Shuttle AK31A work great for me.

My GeForce 3 Ti200 never had the "infinite loop" problem.

And it overclocks past Ti500 speeds.

I've never had a hard drive fail in over 10 years.

God must like me better than you
