Do you think that Blix is doing a good job as a head of the weapons-inspectors?

Sorry, no participation from me in this thread for now, I'm on my way out. But I will check this thread once I get back home.

I do not envy him. On one side the US et al are chomping at the bit to release hell on Iraq. On another side, France and other countries are against the US releasing hell. And then he has to deal with Iraq who thinks that their sovereign rights have been usurped for the last 10 years. He and his crew are in a no win situation.

i think he only wants job security

"give me 17 years and i will keep looking around"

i think he is more interested in towing the UN line than accomplishing anything in Iraq

I'd trust him long before I put any money on anything coming out of bush's mouth.

It doesn't matter if I'm happy or not. He still has the coolest name EVAR!

HANS BLIX: INTERNATIONAL INSPECTOR -- coming soon to a theater near you!

He has an almost imposible job. The US wants him to fail, and the Iraqis are helping him to fail. Events are not in his control.

Happy with him? How could I be. Bastard keeps working late hours, comes home smelling like booze and cheap perfume.

I think he's cheating on me.

Job security is not a concern for him. He RETIRED in 1997 and was called back to head these inspections (he was head of the Internation Atomic agency until 97).

I think he's done a great job, seems very neutral and reasonable. I'd trust his words way more than Bush's or Saddam's :)

I should think his retirement has been adequately handled by a secret Swiss account from an unknown donor accessable as soon as those pesky inviso-rayguns are found.
