I want to see the yanks choke and not make the playoff, simple! And i wanna see Joe torre getting F I R E D !!!!

but they picked up doc gooden, and cone when they were down and out and that was when they started winning...it had nothing to do with money...

and pettite was in the farm. and john wetteland was practically a nobody before he saved those games in atlanta in 96

OK, it sucks to break it to you, but not ALL hatred in the world is jealousy, though for some reason a lot of people seem to think so:roll:
You don't like the rules, argue for a salary cap. I'd actually agree with you, and I'm a Yankees fan born & raised in NY. But hating them for doing what they can within the ruleset to win is ridiculous. That's like hating a player for using cleats or lifting weights.

I actually don't have an opinion on the Yankees, I just don't like that every time someone says "I hate ____" someone else automatically says "Oh, you're just jealous".

In some cases (maybe even the Yankees example), it MAY be jealousy, but not always.

I hate the Patriots, but I'd continue to hate them even if they started losing every game, so...

No. I'm not one of those losers who hates the biggest/baddest/richest out there for inexplicable reasons.

Reason why people dont like rich teams like that tis because they can't build their talent but they just PURCHASE it.

When was the last time the Yankees won the WS?

i am happy that they are choking, just goes to show you having all the money in the world will n0t alwasy get you ahead in life. Instead of developing their farm system and making real players, they go out and buy washedup, overpriced, used to be good talent. It is like they do it, because they can. Look at teams like Oakland, and the Twins, limited payroll, yet are very competitive year after year. I am a diehard A's fan, I would be happier with a rookie with promise over a guy who use to hit 30 homeruns, but is running out of steam. So I hope Baltimore stays hot and shows the Yankees that money wont buy you games.

Bmore spends a pretty good deal of money to bring in big named players as well. Not quite at NY levels, but they are by no means pinching pennies and looking for value players.

Yankees can't build their talent, hmmmmm....... Jeter, Posada, Pettitte, Rivera, Williams. Seems like they can build talent just fine.

What's really funny is that all the people that were crying when the Yankees were winning that they only won because of their payroll are now the same ones saying that the Yanks are proof that money can't buy you a championship. Ironic.

The more they loose, the better it is for the Jays.

Not that I hate them or anything. :p

Why yes, yes I am happy.
I'd like to see the Yankees be the league doormat for a while. New York has too big a head as it is.

Yes - they need to eat some humble pie. $$ can no longer buy championships.
It takes

The yankees are never good at the beginning of the season. They always turn it up a notch right after the All-Star break. They'll be up there with the Red Sox at the end of the season.

Not this season. If the Sox's starting rotation can't stay healthy, they won't be in the postseason either.

Face it. The Yankees are too old. They have terrible pitching and no cohesiveness within their clubhouse. They only have one starting pitcher who is considered to be in his traditional "prime" (Pavano). Everywhere else, they just look.... old. Randy is great, but who else can actually pitch? Mussina is overworked and can't get it done anymore, Kevin Brown is awful, and they called up two other guys from the minors.

Their farm system is completely barren and they can't trade any of the their starters because nobody wants them with the huge contracts they've signed.

I am a lifelong Mets fan who loves seeing the Stankees suck ALMOST as much as I enjoy the Mets winning. (Which means I haven't had much to be happy about for a few years, but I'm making up for it now!)
