Are you guys getting the Division on PS4 or X1?

I'm 30/22 right now. Purple and Yellows dropping from daily missions and in the DZ. My Destiny trials buddy and I wrecked shop in the DZ yesterday night. It was a a lot of fun; the only pvp happened when I accidentally mowed down another player who was already almost dead as he was exploring the same department store we were.

The department store had a lot of yellow mobs and the two of us were doing pretty solid with just the occasional res needed. So, after just taking out some really tough mobs, this guy comes around a corner and I mistook him for a NPC and just mowed him down with my LMG. I even left all the loot he dropped because it was an accident. Nonetheless, it made me rogue and I was hunted down in quick fashion.

I've been playing most of the weekend, and this game is a blast. The Darkzone is really interesting. It can just be total chaos in there sometimes. Gotta be careful where you're shooting, or you can go rogue pretty quick. Most people have been pretty cooperative in there, but you just never know what's gonna happen.

I remember my first venture in there, me and a buddy ran into a rogue agent. We didn't know the skull meant, and he just wrecked us. We respawned, in a safehouse near by, came out and there was just a ton of loot on the ground. Proceeded to pick it all up, and ran to the extraction point. Call in a chopper, and a bunch of enemies spawn, now we're fighting them off. Just madness, but it was lots of fun. Can't wait to get to 30 in the DZ

If I get this game I will probably end up soloing the story mode since I don't have any friends on XB1. I've seen some reviews that this type of experience can be boring due to the isolation. Can anyone comment if this is the case or if the game is still compelling even when played alone?

I think the game is playable and worth playing solo. I think I would enjoy it still, not as much as I enjoy running around with some friends though.

Also, there's matchmaking, and people in the DZ looking for a partner will often send you an invite. I've joined a few random groups, and have run into some pretty decent peeps.

That's encouraging. I remember joining random groups for instances during my WoW days and that was definitely fun.

Clearly worth playing solo. Story is not really there but there's a nice feel to the old game. Finding recordings of post-epidemy is really nice and each missions/side quests/encounters are really well made and fun. I smiled when I had to go kill an old lady that was shooting people from her balcony, really fun side mission.

You'll have a blast solo for sure.

It loses something playing alone, since MMOs usually struggle to be strong in the plot department. They have to manage telling a story that intentionally drags on. The Division does a lot of vague dancing around things, as you'd expect. It's definitely tolerable though, and the game is plain fun to play, even alone. It's just better with others.

That said, if you need someone to play with when/if you get it, I'd gladly help out. Note that the matchmaking is more like the crappy LFD groups in WoW, not the hand-picked pugs from a single server.

I did the matchmaking and played with people I didn't know and it was great. I don't have many friends that play video games so having matchmaking for any mission is great. Much better than Destiny in that regard.

Dammit...2 of my friends that were supposed to get the game won't get it...cheap ass mofos 😛

Still fun to play but won't keep the same appeal if I were to play with buddies.

Hah yeah that's happened to me before. Buy a game that we agreed to play as a team and then they don't buy it.

I keep hearing that but need to resist lol
It's fun to a certain degree but like many other "open world" games, it falls into the typical, go here and kill something side mission. Part of the reason why I got bored with Fallout 4, every side mission in The Division is shoot shoot kill. Also it's much better with other people and luckily it has matchmaking in the game so it's not an issue finding people to play with.

If I do get it I dunno if I want it on PC or PS4. I have a pretty decent PC, not ultra high end or top of the line but much better than a PS4 could play this game. Especially if I shoot for 1080p.

With this type of game, if you have friends that play games, get it for whatever they play it on. This is one of those games that is better playing with others.

XB1 with my friends - My gamertag on live is Hemolytic if anyone wants. I bought it today, then got called into work. Currently still at work.

I see everyone is doing the bullet king cheese all weekend, lol.

Also, is anyone sick of kneepad jokes when playing with friends yet?

The 1.0.2 patch took care of this. Once you kill him once, he will no longer re-spawn. So if you truly want to farm, you'll have to head on over to the Dark Zone.

Nope more cheezes available.

There's the end of the Madison Medical Field, keep dying after killng boss.

Also, hornet on challenging. Have 3 people go outside, and make extended shields to slide in and out of gate. Kill Hornet, and have person inside mission die. Collect loot.

got a couple of yellow AR's last night. He seems to drop yellow AR's, different ones. It's not the easiest cheese to do and can take time to kill hime sometimes because it is lvl 32 enemies that you fight.

Anyhow, DZ is so annoying now. Do not enter with out a full team unless you're extremely well geared. I'm not sure what to make of it right now. Before, going rogue penalized you too heavily, now... everyone's a dick in there... lol.

I'm still 8 lvls away from 50 in there, and wanna buy those mats so badly.

Maybe DZ they need another DZ group lvl or make it match you with those that are similarly geared somehow. idk..

At this point, I do not go in alone and yes I am a dick in there as well when I got my buddies backing me up now.

At least you can matchmake for the DZ to.
