Other post i see is a beta one.

I only played a bit last beta. I really did not follow the game much, so it came as a bit of a suprise, i assumed it was going to be really bad because of Funcom. I started Conan on day one and leveled and past all the content that was finished/itemized pretty quick and then quit.

Interface seems a bit rough, but game seems like it could be fun. I think i am going to go preorder it from Gamestop today for early access and the wolf pet. I tried out Assault rifles in beta and seemed like a good ranged option, i would like a dps build so not really sure what i will go with yet. I did like the swords and claws some, did not mess with the magic much. Anyone recommend a build?

If you are going to play, what faction maybe we can get group going in game. I am thinking Illuminati.

I played Age of Conan, and while I love the concept, the story and new combat systems....
there was just so many things wrong with it (when I played at launch).
Apparently funcom has a track record of doing that.

Ive seen video's of secret world, and to be frank Im pretty sure its gonna fall flat on its face.

The best thing about secret world? The trailers, and concept.
The worst thing about secret world? everything else

Its the "everything" else part that makes me convinced its bound to fail.

I was way to hard in the post above though....

There are some nice things to be found it, even the "no class system or levels" aspect has grown on me. Its simply finding out which skills go good together, and then which setups such as those that work on each type of boss in the game. I like that you can "save" a skill profile. That way you could make one for each type of differnt boss encounter you would need.

The skill system is nice. And Im a big fan of the paranormal genre, and the good/evil aspects.

That said its still not a active combat MMO like TERA and more and more new mmo's are gonna be, its the same old "tab lock" + mash buttons (no need to aim/avoid blows ect).

Its differnt in that its in the modern world.... The pvp videos I saw didnt look specially good.
I like some of the pve aspects of it though, ei. the "flashlight" use in the dark, that draws enemies ect.
That said the "raid bosses" didnt look that engaugeing or fun.

I think its gonna turn out, okayish... but I dont think it ll be what replaces World of Warcraft, as a success story.

The Secret World is basically Hellgate: London, but without the hub-based travel....but worse.

The story isn't unique...the game client is clunky as hell...and despite what they say, there ARE levels and there IS experience.

It had potential (and does have some cool concepts,) but after playing the beta, it's just another MMO.

But seriously, if it's F2P and people say it's decent I might take it for a spin. I've had a lot of fun with Star Trek Online and it's F2P.

Too expensive. I'll wait and see if it gets better and wait for the price to come down. There's more than enough people willing, waiting and, wanting to pay the big bucks so they can be beta II testers at release.

I ended up preordering it from Amazon. Since they are rolling out waves of early access not sure when i will get in. I figure it buys me a bit more time to try the game and i can always cancel my preorder still. Anyone else playing?

I wish Funcom could nail something down, make something not clunky. I always like their game settings. I would jump onboard for another sci-fi future game like Anarchy Online. I want to pilot a power-armor suit at high levels in instances or open-field battles!

Anyone playing?

I am playing on Grim server, name is Jason "Ashenor" Sanders.

Pretty fun so far, reminds me of farming for AA in EQ. I like that you can literally do anything, you just need to farm more SP/AP and you can.

Working on unlocking Slayer deck, i am mostly Assault Rifle now, and slowly working on swords.

I did the first dungeon and got a GL3 gun and sword first run so that was cool. Game does not really hold your hand there is a lot you need to figure out on your own, which i like.

I finally leaned towards trying it with the pre-release bundle and discount July 3... the day the pre-release ended, so didn't get it. Now makes more sense to wait for a sale.

I was excited until it became obvious that it's ktuthlu inspired WOW. Maybe I'll try F2P version we all know it will be there by the end of the year.
