Are you going to buy the iPhone?

How many of you guys are willing to shell out $500/$600 for an iPhone and why?

Even though the iPhone has a fat price tag, I think I'm going to buy one just because I think it's the pimpest phone ever made. Once again, Apple is going to make me buy something that I don't need. 😛

IT COSTS HOW MUCH? HOW MUCH... FOR A PHONE??

I'm of the opinion that people take their phones too seriously. I've got a cheap, basic phone that does text and voice, I've got an mp3 player and a digital camera. I see no need to sell my kidneys to afford a device that'll combine them all so I lose them all when it gets stolen.

yes... only if that free service giveaway was true. since it's not likely to happen, then no.

But if it were at a better price point, I might switch to cingular despite my decent service w/ Verizon. I haven't had much issue other than the fact after 7 years of service, you'd think they cut you some slack on buying new phones. Instead, I get lame offers to renew for more years w/ bottom rung freebie phones. Altho, this is probably common across the board.

Sure! I'll buy an iPhone when it comes with 32 GB of storage, costs under $200 with a service plan, and works with Verizon's network.

I think that I'll be waiting awhile 🙂

Nope. At this time I don't have any reason to ditch my current provider which is Nextel. Once Sprint finally discontinues the IDEN network and forces its users to upgrade to new hardware I might consider switching to someone else.

love VZW too much to HAVE TO switch to Cingular/ATT.

The GUI is nice... the size is nice... but the price is not. When it comes down to say... 350 and it's on VZW... then definitely. And hopefully by then there will be similar competitors anyway. Really the nicest part about it is the GUI... the implementation has been done many times... well, save for size... in due time.

It's not just a phone guys, it's a next generation digital media hub, a lifestyle. It has a built in computer, a phone, media player etc. See it as an investment. If you value your time, it'll actually save you money.
