If you already have iPhone 3GS and want to buy iPhone HD/4G when it comes out? And why?

I have hard time deciding whether to get iPhone HD/4G because there are few things I am not impressive with 3GS and maybe 4G have everything 3GS lacks?

I want the higher resolution screen, the better body, and wireless N. If I can sell my 3GS for enough to pay the contract termination fee and buy the low end model, I'll do it. Assuming it starts at $200 with contract, I could get away selling my 3gs for $330 or so.

I have the 3G and am planning to switch to the HTC Evo when my two year contract is up in July. There is much to like about the new iPhone but not enough compared to the Evo.

If the hardware/software/network were equal I'd still be inclined to switch because I do not like ATT and Apple/Jobs make MS/Gates seem like a nice guy.

If I go with the Evo as planned I will not have 4G in my home town of Salt Lake City but I will have 3G there and 4G where available. When I got the 3G iPhone there were a lot of places that did not have 3G service with ATT. Being able to tether at high speed at a reasonable price is a big plus as well.

I'll probably get it when it/OS4 gets jailbroken. I've had a 3G for over a year now so it'd be a 2 generation jump which will be pretty good. I like most of the android phones, but I've already invested enough in iphone apps and such to keep with it.

The iPhone 3GS's value will go down when 4G comes out. How do you sell it for 330.00?

I'll buy one if the battery life is better.

No, by the time my contract is up with Verizon in 2011, the Android phones will be even further ahead of the iPhone.

Gonna have to wait until we get the full rundown on what's in the phone before I decide.

I got burned when I went from the 3G to the 3GS. My 3G battery was superior to my 3GS. I'm putting the 3GS up for sale, with the hope that I can get either the new HD, or one of the Android phones. 802.11n support, and a better screen would force me to stay with the iPhone.

They do release the iPhone with T-Mobile frequencies.

I know, but you're still stuck on edge data speeds, and isn't the most current OS jailbreak/unlock one you have to perform tethered and repeat if you do a reset? Having a phone go non functional on me is not acceptable.

I've owned every version of the iPhone but I'm not interested in the next one at all.

I like a number of the new features of the next iPhone but I like the features of the HTC Evo more so I'll likely switch at the end of my contract.

I've sold 3 1g iPhones on CL this year, 2 of them sold the first day the last took 2 days. I got $200/$200/$250. I could EASILY sell a 3GS for $330, probably within 4 hours on CL. iPhones really don't lose their value much at all and they sell super quick. I have a 1g right now which I will sell later this year for $200 no sweat.

Looks like you don't know much about selling phones. I sell my iphones every year after buying the new version and make anywhere from $300 to $400 on them. This is not just with iphones. Whenever you sell a phone, it's unsubsidized so you make more since you're selling without a contract.

And yes, I'll be buying the new 4G once it's out, so I can make money from selling my 3GS that was just replaced this week by Apple and looks brand new.
