Are you getting sick of Donald Trump and the Apprentice show on NBC?

They are showing the repeats of repeats of repeats. Trump initially said on an interview that he is very busy and he can spare only 30 min for this show. Looks like he spent most of his time on it. Also, looks like the almost bankrupt Trump is making good money on Apprentice.

Me either. I tend to stay away from this "reality TV" fad, because I have better things to do with my time, like post on ATOT.

It's no longer a fad.

Why does everyone say these are "reality TV" shows. They are just game shows. Jeopardy is more real then most of these shows people call reality shows. For some odd reason that pisses me off.

I think because these shows are designed to display intense human emotion they are considered more "real" - after all the emotion of the players is real.

The success of this show and others like it is an example of the many things wrong with this society.

Of course Donald Trump is going to spend more time on the show... It's making him a lot of money, and also give him a chance to promote himself and his business... It's almost like a 1-hr infomerical for his business every week (which will be viewed by millions of people)...

Never watched the show. But he's getting all kinds of pub because of it which means I'm still forced to see him on commercials and other things. Which means I have to look at that God awful comb-over. That's enough for me. So yes, I'm sick of him and his show.

How does the success of this show and others like it exemplify the things wrong with our society? Please, enlighten us. This is probably one of the more stupid things I've ever heard on ATOT.

One, this show and others like it is a reworked formula of game shows. Shows like Family Fued and Let's Make a Deal are the gameshows of yesteryear. Survivor and the Apprentice are the new breed of gameshows. I failed to hear anyone chastizing the influx of Wheel of Fortune clones and Jeopardy-a-likes as being the downfall of society in the 80's and 90's.

Two, it's ultra cheap for the networks to get into the "reality" show craze. They pay the contestants practically nothing, and for the ones that are ultra-popular (i.e. Survivor, etc.), advertisers pay big money. They could afford to probably give out $3 or $4 million jackpots if they wanted to, but for now, $1 million is the ultimate goal for many people to realize they are rich.

Stratum9, that was just a rediculous statement.

I'm getting sick of posts about reality tv shows, period. I clicked on this thread thinking the poll might have had a quick means of expressing that opinion, but alas, you didn't think of it. I don't watch those shows, nor do I care about them. And while I'm at it, wtf is up with that Hung guy or something?? I don't know if he's good or bad, or some reincarnation of the Star Wars Kid or what. I did figure out that he sings. But I'm sick and tired of having to wear out my finger by scrolling past 2 or 3 threads a week about him.

/end irritation about reality tv, american singer, and sarcasm toward people who actually mean it when they complain about threads taking up room on their screen.
